I just checked and there is a testing lab in the City close to us. So the question is ..... what do the results show? Is it just a bunch of chemical analysis with results, or do they state in plain English if something is wrong and the possible cause/s?

A good lab should give it to you in English or French with explanations. Metal and other particulates are the primary items for me Here is a link to what I use.

Well to bring you up to date. Still have tractor. They have fixed the squalling hydraulic issues with the redesigned loader. Does not help us with the old style.

Still running the chevron full synthetic. LOVE IT!! Has fixed all my issues except if I put a heavy load in loader. I have asked Massey why they put idiot light on hydraulics and answer was tractor discontinued. Heard 2 customers here locally had to have their pumps turned up but nothing after that.

What gets me is why Massey hides behind the issue. They could easily come on here and talk about it but they won't. Everything is fixed in the new tractors but nothing for us old people.

stormcom,

I think i may experiencing some of the same issues on my brand new 1835m. I have sourced some Kubota Synthetic THF locally for $105/pail. I realize you are a fan of the Chevron. Do you have any insight how they compare to each other?

One other thought is that just changing the oil period may help. Maybe its the filter or screens that are slightly plugged.

Only 7 hrs on tractor and not a fan of the shuddering in reverse. Also, when throttling up either in neutral or using the auto throttle there is a period around 2200 rpms where a resonance hits the cab and a couple things vibrate from behind the dash. Maybe the hydro pump cavitating or not liking the current lubrication. Hoping a change to synthetic will improve it.

my understanding from Chevron is viscosity breakdown. I had someone who tried Kubota and and said you could feel the difference. It works great in Orange but nobody has really talked about it in other brands. I would call Chevron and inquire. My oil jobber Haigood and Cambell told me about it. I have sent it to people across the country since.

Massey should have a program on these loaders. I will be doing a test on my oil in June and will be happy to send you results. We cut the filter with 150 hrs and it looked like new. I pay 175 per pail for the Chevron but it works for me.

Sorry to dig up this old thread. I am confused by the dash warning symbols that OP posted. Aren’t those engine temperature warnings not hydro oil warnings?

Apparently on the trans, there is a temp sensor and a warning light for the trans. This is in addition to the engine temp gauge. Few smaller tractors have this.

I have been looking through manuel of my powershuttle 1754 and I can't find that reference. It claims it is the "coolant" temperature warning.
