Good morning, low temp 36, high 59°F. Wind E 11 mph. Sunny!

Got some nasty news yesterday, the DIL has 3 months to live at most. They (the doctors) are guessing it is cancer. She is bleeding somewhere and they can't tell where. Guessing the small intestine, which normally (if you can call it that) is non operable. She has been in constant pain since 2006. She was on morphine until it made her physically sick even with gravol, so that was the end of that. Tylenol doesn't touch the pain, morphine makes her sick so they gave her something else. The doctors are a little reluctant to shell out Oxycontin.

A town run is in the cards for today.

Have a safe day all
That sounds like a terrible thing for her and all her family. Hope things get better soon.

Good Morning
It’s 46 heading to 68. Clear blue sky and mild wind.
Wonderful day to be outside.

Yesterday’s trip went according to plan, got home in time to get a few things done. Getting a delivery of off road diesel today, so I filled all of the cans to empty the tank. Got all the drivers mounted in two of the speakers, they’ll get tested today. A friend brought his Prius over for me to test the capacity of its 12v battery. His kid left a light on and ran it down to where it wouldn’t power up the hybrid system. He jumped it and it started fine, the question was how did the battery fare. It turned out just fine, it still had its rated capacity. It’s interesting that while it uses the hybrid battery to start the engine or propel the car, with out the 12v battery, you’re dead in the water. The 12v battery is charged from the inverter, as there is no alternator per se.

The ground is starting to dry up nicely, I might mow a little around the house with the Lazer today. I’ve got to get these speakers finished and shipped, but it’s going to be too nice to spend all day in the shop.

My wife has been a hospice nurse for over 30 years, and she has always been frustrated by doctors that don’t understand the needs of terminal patients. It really is a different discipline, with issues and concerns that don’t apply to their typical practice. Doses often need be much higher than they are used to because of a reduced metabolism doesn’t process them as well, and of course future addiction isn’t an issue. I would suggest a consult with a doctor that specializes in palliative care.

I can sure understand that. From what I've seen, it would be really unusual to find a doctor who cared anything at all about a dying patient.

Morning all, sunny today.
Got planters closed up with chicken wire and crape myrtles unwrapped. Then ran out of energy.
Still need to rake out the other plant beds.

L4N sorry to hear about your DIL - being in pain for so long can't have given her a good quality of life

Stay safe and be well

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 5"30AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 78F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Recent test results show that the dryness in forest fuels is reaching record levels for this time of year, another bad omen for the upcoming fire season. Heck, the fire season has already started, with two or three call outs a day.

The pond is looking great, Paul. Must be nice to be able to try out boats in your back yard!

Not again, Ted! Hope you get some good news on Thursday.

Turns out the milkshake stuff coming out of the side-by-side tank was hydraulic fluid for the power steering. I made the mistake of thinking it was antifreeze for the cooling system, and flushed it out with the garden hose. What a mess! Got most of it cleaned up off the driveway with a wide putty knife and a dose of Gunk. I'll use muratic acid on the rust stains from the radiator today. Gonna just refill the power steering reservoir with UDT and see how that goes.

Spent the rest of the day watching the FEL arms on the M62 going up and down, trying once again to adjust the auto-leveling feature. All I can say is it doesn't work very well. The amount of correction is proportional to the speed at which the loader arms are raised or lowered. So it's impossible to find one setting of the proportioning valves that works under all conditions. The best I could do is set it so no matter how fast the arms move, the pallet forks never end up tipping down, which would cause the load to slip off. I think most of the time I'll just leave that feature off.

Back to bucking and burning today.

58 now, 72 later. Plan to mow today, then work on some chairs for an interior designer. I have to bleach wash the house, buildings and all the decks and railings, then clean out the tank, mix the glyphosate and spray all the shells and stones.
Some of that ain’t going to happen today though.
Have good, safe day.

That is terrible... they won't even make her comfortable... a disgrace of the medical community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Good morning. It was a humid 67° this morning with a 10 mph wind. Forecast say 82° this afternoon and into the low 90's Thursday and Friday.

Congratulations to the Baylor Bears who beat undefeated Gonzaga very decisively last night 86-70. The BB's knocked my Alma mater, University of Houston Cougars out of the Final Four but, glad we kept it in Texas.

We're making progress on more yaupon slaughter...

I spray the cut stumps with a 20% Remedy / 80% diesel mix as I cut them. I leave them long so .. after a few weeks time, I can pull the big ones with our tree / post puller.

The middle of the three trees will be removed.

Hope everyone has a safe and productive day.

Prayers to all.
