I just had to have my JD 1050 injection pump rebuilt, 3000 hours and it apparently was worn out. $668 later it was running like a top.

A little on the steep price to rebuild. Was this at a shop or dealer then? The Yanmar shop manual or the TM1192 JD shop manual or the ITSS-JD-47 Shop manual walks you thru it. Maybe $50 or so to rebuild. Better if you own an ultrasonic parts cleaner too!

At a shop, needed all three barrels replaced, seals, etc. I’ll know better next time! Thanks,

I don't think $668 is bad for a shop rebuild.
They don't just disassemble and put back together with new parts and say "good enough". They will also put the injection pump on a test stand and make sure the pump is calibrated to deliver the fuel that is required for the application.

Yes they wold because it's in the Service manual that way. But the pump isn't on a test stand, it remains on the tractor and another tool is used to calibrate both. TM1192 and the other book really helps. Actually the best book is the Yanmar injection pump repair manual.
