One other thing. A goal will be to own a tiller some day. I see in the manual that a 42" is recommended, and the Land Pride unit is 42". Other than that it looks like 42s are hard to find. I see many options in 48".

A brief Google also shows me several instances of people who have a 48 with the 1880 and are happy. I'm tempted to just get one of those when cash allows. Stick to the manual or not? On my property my soil is mostly sand. I doubt I'd have trouble running most any tiller here. However, who knows what buddy may want some help at his or her house some day.

Depends on size of tires, and what "liquid" you use.
Water? windshield washer fluid?, Calcium Chloride?, Rim Guard?

According to my spec sheet the tires are 24x12-12, and I believe he said they use a water/antifreeze mix.

The Rim Guard chart shows 8 gallons to fill those tires, and Google tells me a 50/50 mix is 9.4 lbs/gal. I don't know what ratio they plan to use, but that gives me a good ballpark to have in my head.

Just playing with numbers while I wait, because that's what I do .

Looks like the loader with bucket comes in around 500 lbs, and I have 50 lb wheel weights for both sides ordered as well. I do not have any ballast besides that, but one of my first implements for the rear should be a box blade!

I gather that it's difficult to find the correct sized cylinder for a hydraulic top link on these tractors? Do any of you know of a source for them? I think I'd like a hydraulic top link. I'm not sure if I have a use for tilt yet or not.

With it on my tractor, will it quickly and easily attach to my pin on bucket, and other things designed to pin on like my bucket does? Obviously it also works with his QA products he's designed.

Will it *also* work with things designed for a standard quick attach? For instance, if I had the tach n go and scored a land pride loader implement of some kind intended for the kubota QA loader, would it work?

You would have to talk to Jery, or maybe some others here on TBN have used other loader items with the tach n go. I think Jery sent me pins to go in my pin on bucket. I am pretty sure the new style Kubota BX QA will NOT work with the tach n go. But the standard pin on loader items would work. May have to install pins in them though. Jon

That sounds just fine. If it attaches and detaches quickly and easily, it matters not to me whether the loader attachment is labeled QA, or pin on. Just need to know what I'm working with before purchasing something!

I am guessing that pin on attachments might be a smidge cheaper anyway? I'm also guessing those will be easier for me to find secondhand.

Sorry I’m late to the game here. I’ve had a couple of Jery’s quick attach setups, and currently have one on my BX2670. I will say without a doubt, this is the best part of my tractor.

I switch between the bucket and forks regularly, and it is perfect. BTW, I have Jery’s forks, too. I think I bought the first set of movable forks Jery made when I had the same setup for my last B2620. They are extremely light, heavy duty, and barely cut in to your loader capacity.

Now, as for use of the quick attach, it’s simple OP. Unpin your bucket, and pin Jery’s quick attach at the loader ends and the center cylinder with the three extra pins provided by Jery. Insert your original pins back in the bucket. Now, hook on to the bucket with a Jery’s quick attach, flip two locking levers and insert the safety pins, and go to work.

Any and ALL attachments that share the same BX loader pin configuration will hook up to Jery’s QA. The QA has a hook in the center that grabs to main center pin of all BX attachments that would normally pin on your loader in place of the bucket. It connects in 10 seconds, not 15 minutes pulling pins. It will work with pin-on buckets, forks, grapples, etc. And Jery’s has a built-in 2-inch receiver for adding a hitch to move trailers, hooks for ripping, or adding your own inventions.

Jery’s work is all CAD generated, laser cut, and hand welded in a fashion you’d think it was robotically done. He has several very light grapples that work well too. Some are vertical styles that can pull saplings out 1/4-inch in diameter, and still move 55-gallon drums.

I’ve thought of moving to a new BX Series tractor, but I’m not interested in losing several hundred pounds due to the skid steer quick attach. Jery’s QA is like 30#. Kubota forks are 80# A PIECE and the frame I recall close to 80#. Jery’s forks and frame are under 100# total.

Then I'll focus on the T & G. I do have some fonky places that would be good spots to store a trailer but I can't really get into with my truck. The receiver slot will be nice, and I could see me mounting a hook to a receiver to lift things with a chain.

Now that I have a trailer and a tractor I need to buy a welder . My dad has a nice Miller MIG welder, but all this sort of blossomed because I've gotten tired of borrowing, so that's going backwards again (but I don't mean to say that I'm not thankful for the generosity of my dad and friends who've helped me out here and there!).

I was browsing the trailer inventory at my local Kubota Dealership. They are one of the few dealers for Hudson Brother's trailers, a local manufacturer who builds very nice trailers. I've had to borrow trailers a few times lately (and a tractor) and was fed up with it.

Well, they got me with the 0% ads all over the website, so long story short I bought my trailer! And it came with a tractor .

I chose the bx1880. I understand that bigger is usually better, but I only have 0.8 acres to maintain and I think this will fit the bill in every way! I will need it continually for jobs like spreading mulch, or sand to top dress my yard, carrying things around in the bucket or on a pallet to save my back, dragging/moving brush from the many trees on my property, and some light grading. I have a lot of tight spaces to work in, and also don't have a ton of storage space to store the tractor.

By going with the cheaper tractor I added every option I thought I may some day need or want. Cruise control (for use with a sprayer-fertilixers, pre emergent, selective pesticides, iron, maybe some growth inhibitor), rear remote valves, third function valve, canopy, wheel weights, and filled tires. I think I may some day want a combination bucket, and/or may want to add "the thumb" to both the bucket and a set of 3ph pallet forks. Adding those options now seemed to make the most sense. I also may want a hydraulic top link (I understand that it's hard to find the right size cylinder for this small tractor). I went with the pin on bucket, due to the already limited loader capacity. The quick attach removes another hundred pounds ish of capacity. I may try a pin on quick attach adapter some day if I get a hankering for switching between my bucket and something else frequently.

I also went with a 20' (18 flat 2' dove) 3.5 ton trailer. I have a half ton truck so that fits the bill nicely.

Similar to my BigTex 18 ft with dove tail ramps. I probably should have gone with the 20 ft like you but I too was tired or worrying where I was going to rent or borrow a good size trailer.

You got a good deal with the package I hope. My trailer alone was $4800.

You might consider the Hobart Handler 190 MIG or the Hobart 210MVP.
You can currently buy the 220V Hobart 190 for $540, or the 110/220V Hobart 210 for $900.
Much better bang for the buck than similar size Miller.

I think I did alright. I think I paid a fair price, but I don't think I got much of a "deal". I didn't try to haggle. I thought it was a fair price for exactly what I want, and they need to eat too! I know and trust the dealership, the guy who runs the place and works the sales (not sure of the exact title). I've known him since I was a boy and he's mistakenly called me by my dad's name a couple of times (we look and sound just alike). It has been a good and easy experience this far, and I trust it will be through the duration of my ownership of Kubota tractors.

I don't recall the exact number but I was around $19,500 out the door, with the Kubota insurance.

It is a fair bit cheaper, but it does not include a 2" receiver mount. What do y'all think about the comparison? Is the receiver built in worth the extra money? Looks like $200-$300 difference.

Too bad you couldn't have used the 20% Equine discount. That would have save you about $3k.
