So I take it you havnt heard about the electric mustang? Tesla?Kia? Kenworth? etc

I run a land clearing business; sometimes my machines will be on site (a site with zero infrastructure) for weeks. How do I charge them? Load them up and bring them back to town every night? Or maybe fire up a big diesel genny? The day I can’t buy diesel anymore is the day I retire.

Ok, so you should support all the rest of us who can more easily transition to electric vehicles to do so, right? Take away our demand for petroleum, and it becomes more affordable for you, a person who cannot easily switch over yet. No one is taking away your diesel fuel before you die, bud.

I cannot wait for autonomous tractor trailers on the road. Should be very interesting in as much as the percentage of poor drivers out there today. Nothing better than a driverless semi play dodgem with distracted drivers. Should be quite interesting.

My cousin has the high buck AWD Tesla suv. I've driven it. Nice vehicle, goes like a raped ape but not for me. Only plus thing for me is instant heat in the winter.

I still maintain that if Musk wasn't on the government gravy train, he'd be out of business long ago. Reminds me of the GM bailout years ago but in Musk's case it's a continuous bailout.

But I do get tired of the BS illusion that "somehow" going electric is "cleaner".

Well... Having just covered my barn with a solar array last year that powers the house, the barn, and a car that travels 50 miles/day, I disagree. That array will pay for itself toward the end of year 8, so given the 30 year warranty on the equipment, I'll be enjoying free power for 21 years. And that's just one slope of the barn roof. The house roof is still free for powering a tractor that I'll be eager to purchase. Turns out it's not only possible to produce clean power on a large scale, it's a much better return on investment than the typical IRA.

I understand the skepticism... But I hope you'll consider the thoughts of someone who was willing to invest $40K. I've got skin in the game, so this isn't just an opinion. (BTW, you don't need $40K to do it... banks were lining up offering to finance the project, because the big money people have done the math and see the same payback period too.)

Of course, I'm also fine with nuclear to feed the city folk if that's what it takes. There's some risk in nuclear. There's certain disaster in not dealing with global warming because it's "too hard."

I'm not going to say anything about how wonderful solar can be. I'll say that China makes most of them and here's the result of it environmentally. Yes, the USA benefits from manufactured in China panels. But their environment doesn't. This is the great argument about Solar Production that has continued from invention of it till now.

You bring up a great scenario that will definitely be a tough one to solve. Just curious but how do you handle the constant fueling of multiple machines on a job like that today?
