I still remember when people also called Kubota an off brand, that wouldn't last long, etc some time ago... All those depreciative comments that we now hear towards all the brands other than Kubota and JD. Maybe our Kubota fanboy forgot about that?

Since you're going that route, don't stick on searching for issues on others brands, try search for some Kubota issues too. You may get surprised. Also, don't forget that recall on some models where they didn't tight a single bolt well enough pretty much in the middle of the HST, that requires the splitting of the tractor to fix. Or that they don't even include a simple fuel filter neck strainer anymore on their overprice tractors?

Any brands can get and will get issues, it's just part of the game. Maybe 10 years ago, I would agree with you that Kubota was probably the best, but nowadays? Definitely not. Lots of good competitors around, at a much realistic prices that are proving to be solid machines.

Yes. It seems to me that manufacturers that use ECMs tend to have more problems then those that don't. Unfortunately the repairs also tend to be very expensive to fix. Here is a good example of the type problems that can and do happen.

Kubota L6060 Engine failure

The engine was running fine then one morning it stopped running. Initial inspection on my part indicated an injector pump problem. The dealership said that the injector pump should not have failed. It could be anything. bring it in and we will put it on the computer and Identify the problem...

Yes it does suck. My Kioti had a failed motor when I bought it 15 years ago. Cost me $2500 for a brand new complete replacement engine from Kioti.

But it is expected with these lesser quality brands. Or maybe it was because the oil filter was completely clogged and never changed. Who knows?

What if the best does not offer what you want? No gear drive in the size tractor I wanted. All they offered was a HST with simply the loudest whine of any HST I ever heard. Money was not the problem for me it was they don't build what I wanted.

Then you buy the best tractor that meets your specific specifications.

No. Still the same tune. I think Kubota makes the best overall small/medium size tractor. However, if they don't make a model that meets your specific needs, then I hope you get a machine that serves you reliably, well into the future.

FWIW, I have a JD 6200 bought new that had all kinds of ****tty fuel line issues.

My brother bought a 5105 brand new like 20 years ago. It still has fuel line issues even though the dealer “fixed” it several times. Every color breaks

So - a quick update. The tank has worked flawlessly. I was able to obtain the new design. It consists of a new tank, a bracket, straps and bolts. Basically the same idea I had considered before I decided to go the "easier" route and nitch the bracket. The bracket mounts to the tractor then the tank is strapped to the bracket. This should have been TYM's design from the beginning rather than bolts into a plastic tank design so it could fail in short order. I did finish several other projects (two hydraulic diverter valves, two way radio, replacement stereo speakers, tablet, replacement / additional external lights, tool box, block heater and battery tender) on the tractor which I'll post when I have some time.
