Work office party, then at a Christmas party a few months later and asked her to dance.
Together over 20 years. But hitting some rough times.

Today’s my 28th annivarsary. We were going to go out to eat, but we went out 3 times this week. Decided to stay in and eat. I’m smoking 3 racks of ribs, some corn on the cob, baked beans. Not too fancy, but oh so tasty.

During the Bicentennial, a group of us researched and recreated a small unit from our area that served through the American Revolutionary War. In 1977 we were hired to camp at and provide programs at a beer festival. One member's girlfriend decided that I needed a girlfriend and brought her friend so she could play matchmaker.

It worked. That was June. We were married in December '77 and are still in love, still happily married and are best friends.

She called into the station, I liked what I herd and responded to the station, station called her and gave her my phone number, she called me. We went out for supper and......37 days later we got married.

When my wife's parents were getting married, the groom's brother was the best man, and the bride's cousin was the maid of honor. The maid of honor was already engaged to someone else at the time, but she met the best man, and they REALLY got along well!

Within a couple of months, the maid of honor broke off her engagement and married the best man instead.

That doesn't sound like the start of a successful marriage, but several years ago, we hosted a double 50th wedding anniversary for my wife's parents and her aunt and uncle.

That sounds like my mom and dad. Acquaintances introduced them back in the late '40's. They hit it off and got married 6 weeks later.

When I was about 14 or 15 years old, I remember going to my dad's uncle and aunt's 50th anniversary celebration. About 5 or 6 years later, they divorced.
