Most places up here will put mayonnaise on your hamburger.

🤮

Sometimes I still forget to say "No Mayo"

Is it Holland where they put it on french fries?
There are a few European countries where that’s common. I was introduced to tartar sauce with fries in Seattle a long time ago and it’s now become my go-to.

Poutine must be an acquired taste. I've had it several times, no interest in trying again. Had the mayo in Europe, nothing special. For fries, either ketchup or the Brit way with vinegar.

I'm trying different condiments now, trying to reduce my sodium intake. Apparently the only way to do that is to "Make my own."

When I was very small my grandmother made her own mayonnaise. When I was about 20 or so I asked her to make some. She sent me to the store for the ingredients. A quart of Wesson corn oil, eggs, lemons, & paprika. There may have been a couple of others. First step was to put the Wesson oil in the refrigerator so it would thicken. Then she whipped it together. It was OK, but seeing that it was ~ 95% oil spoiled it for me. Sort of like seeing hot dogs made.

Not so much here; a hamburger normally comes with mustard. Now if you order a cheeseburger, and want mustard instead of mayo, you best tell them.

And speaking of salsa, if anyone here raises their own tomatoes and peppers, try this:

2 cups chopped tomatoes
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped mixed red/green and hot/mild peppers to taste
fresh garlic to taste (a clove or two)
Mix, and add WISH BONE ORIGINAL ITALIAN DRESSING, with gentle stirring, until the mixture is saturated.

Set it out with a bowl of tortilla chips and stand back! It's a guaranteed hit; be sure to make enough!

I've made it once. The first step was to heat the eggs to pasteurize them.

I tried one of the Chik-fil-a "world" famous chicken sammiches 15 years ago... My first and last; wifey doesn't like them either. Pretty good breakfast biscuits though.

I bought a sub sandwich franchise years ago. A side business.

In one of the trade magazines they mentioned that mayonnaise is the #1 condiment in the US. I would have bet on ketchup...

As a business owner i can tell you that greasy stuff ain't cheap and many customers asked for more and more!

Is it Holland where they put it on french fries?
Do you still have it? Do you offer ketchup?
I ordered a cold meat sub from our local Subway. I asked for ketchup and the attendant looked at me like I was crazy. He said they have never had ketchup.
