Getting hay started this week

I’m dropping some hay Friday. Anyone else underway?
We‘ve been fixing things and getting ready for weeks!

We cut a field on Tuesday, not really as thick as usual due to lack of rain, but now that it's cut it should start raining.

I decided to start today. A little early, but should make nice feed hay. 17 acres.

I’m not laughing at you Citydude, I like reading your posts.
It’s just that hay prices are only a little more than they were 35 years ago.
About the only thing that NEVER seems to increase in price, is HAY.
But YEAH, I am going to try to raise them!

Just wondering. I seen that corn has doubled and soybeans up 1/2 of what they were last year.

Your costs to produce has to be up. Don't go in the hole being a nice guy!

12 acres cut and tedded wednesday, pretty thick this year.

Update: 500 squares and 46 rounds in the barn, good for the next year.

Everyone around me (Georgia) has, my 20 acres out front is still standing. I suspect my neighbor has equipment issues he’s dealing with.

@mjw357 we have had the same sky all week. They are saying 97 degrees on Tuesday.
