Is there a better way to refuel the TC series tractors?

At just under $10.00 this may be your cheapest solution: Battery Operated Liquid Transfer Pump

Walmart sells this same pump for the same price. I added a piece of hose to mine for longer reach. Best way to transfer fuel from a 5 gal can ever.

Brother-in-law has one of those battery operated Harbor Freight pumps and says it’s great. I have a few of those No Spill gas cans and they really do work great for me but everything I normally fill is a very easy reach, my opinion they are by far the best and most durable gas cans I’ve ever used. When I bought the first one I thought boy that’s a lot of money for a gas can but it works so well that I eventually bought a couple more.

No offense, but I HATE those cans ! Too slow, takes forever to drain 5 gal. I finally inserted a vent hole cap in my 5 gal cans to let them vent properly, and now I can drain a can in a minute or less.

But the best solution is the 12v submersible pump from ebay. I even use it to pump hydraulic fluid into the reservoir when I do 500 hour service. (besides using it for regular diesel fill ups)

The no spill brand cans are the best of the “safety” cans IMO. I like them for filling 2 stroke equipment but the 5 gallons are too slow to empty. I use VP race jugs which aren’t “technically” fuel containers to avoid the regulations. You can buy RK brand cans for half what a VP can cost if there’s a location near you.

About 14 years ago I had the local Farm CO-OP bring a 300 gallon tank our for off-road diesel. Full size nozzle and electric pump. It was NO COST to me. I just call them when I need a refill and never had to have any repairs except a new nozzle and they didn't charge for that either. Best thing I ever did!

Maybe it's just me but refueling my 2002 TC40 is just a real PITA! With the filler neck 54" off the ground, climbing up on whichever implement is currently attached and jockeying around with a five gallon can of diesel is no walk in the park. I use the tractor primarily for mowing, splitting firewood and hauling tree trimmings to the burn pile-all this is seasonal work so thank God I don't have to "fill 'er up" often. Tried a ladder but no dice. Now I just partially fill the can(s) to decrease the weight and initial pour angle.
So basically I've just grumbled to myself through the refueling process until a friend recently bought a new Branson tractor with the fuel tank filler neck placed at the same height of the work deck! Makes that job as easy as refueling a riding mower...
Anyone have a better solution as in a nonelectrical pump or? I don't want to detach the implement and trying to keep the spillage/messiness factor to a minimum.

I bought this from Amazon a year ago. It works great. I put the 5gal can on a tall stool next to my LX2610 an turn it on. The pump drains the can in under 3min.

Understand your situation. With the tank behind the seat and between the ROPS uprights, it IS a real pain. When working at the NH dealer, we NEVER lifted cans to fill a tractor. Either used a "leg" tank or had a barrel and hand pump.

If you have a front bucket, load a fuel drum in bucket, raise it up. Siphon into the tank. Lowering bucket will stop the filling.

I've been using the 5 gallon metal safety cans for years and twice I've found a black widow underneath right where I put my hand. Yes it's a pain lifting them up each time.

After hours of analyzing and years or experience plus a very few seconds of brilliance,, found a really cheap way of re-filling tanks with fuel.. at NO COST!! Really works if you are able to lift a full plastic juice container without strain or pain..... available at most food stores...
Rinsed out and dried a former 1 or 2 litre plastic juice container instead of throwing it into land fill or recycle bin, placed a funnel to fit into opening, placed both containers on ground and lifted the larger fuel container, ( often 20 litres and quite easily lifted if you're in reasonably physical shape,) filled the smaller one, capped it so as not to spill, lifted the smaller one onto tractor - or whatever implement - filling opening which already has another smaller funnel if you've prepared correctly,remove the cap, tilt the container until empty, Repeat until said tank is almost full. No fuel gauge? Have a clean wooden rod and tip into tank til hits bottom. Check where fuel line visible.. Do not scrape and DO NOT use a metal one to avoid sparks.... Even having to step up higher, still quite safe and simple....
