Good morning!!!!

I understand some mail carriers would import Subaru wagons from Japan (being a RHD country). Around here a LHD vehicle would be the logical choice. BUT Farmers/customers would have to move their box location and NZPO requires the contractors to have modern vehicles so vehicles have to be replaced around 300,000 kilometers. There is no market for used LHD vans. On the run I did there were a number of places where I would have to drive for some distance on the wrong side of the road against the flow of traffic. Completely illegal but locals (and the cops that lived out that way) tolerated it because they were all me "customers" and knew me.

I don't know. I thought it might be a toss up between a cucumber and a squash. I'll just have to wait for the fruit to form on the voluntary mystery plant.

That was my impression, but blossom seems small.

Growing up .. we reserved about 1/4 acre for sweet corn and planted pumpkins, water melon (2-3 varieties) in same area .. since all was picked by hand. I think we tried cantaloupe a couple of years. Don't recall that they did well?

Cucumbers were in the main garden.

...did you know Dykem layout dye has a shelf life? We didn't and that went from a minor to an OFI
Wow, that's really reaching. Do you have - or even need - a process that monitors the shelf life of non-production related chemicals? If not, I'm wondering what the non-conformance is.

On the bright side, if they're reaching that hard to find something, you obviously have a healthy QMS in place.

74F and sunny @ 20:30, heading down to 61F for the overnight low.

Short day today.

The Woman got the hay spread on the new grass by the northeast planting bed ... after I went up and got her another dump cart load of hay. Still more left ... (y)

Then we watered that area together. Also watered one rhododendron and an azalea. Emptied water buffalo which I towed to the back for a refill.

Tuna fish salad sandwiches for lunch (and dinner for me)

Washed out hummer feeder and made up a new batch of juice. Filled and rehung that.

After that we watered the grass behind the west planting bed, as well as the planting bed itself and she pulled weeds while I moved on to spraying:

Got 20 gallons of RM18 mix sprayed. Back, front, all along the driveway, compost/wood lot, plus some over around the barn. Still more to do but it will be several days before I can get back to it due to the weather.

Handled an email with a reply.

Got some more compost screened.

Checked house sparrow in trap - still alive. Watered it and covered over trap for the night.

Dumped weeds from weed pulling up at compost pile.

Gathered up all the tools and brought them in.

A couple of pics of The Woman's planted pots:

Those purple ones are petunias ... think I mistakenly referred to them as pansies at some earlier point.

Have to go down and feed the fish still. Probably do the white worms as well.

Also move "new" chair inside before the rain tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Tomorrow is forecasted to be our hottest day of the year - suppose to be 104F.

I cannot tolerate the heat like before. It just drains all energy.

So, looks to be an inside day.

Hope your weather is better.

The audit results weren't too bad...couple, three minors and a couple OFI (opportunities for improvement). The minors are easy fixes, for the most part. One of the OFI's was chickenshit...did you know Dykem layout dye has a shelf life? We didn't and that went from a minor to an OFI
Not done yet...couple more hours tomorrow, and the closing meeting about 1200

Long day! Started at 0600, knocked off at 1715 (not including the hour drive to and from work)

Came home...shot of Irish whiskey and a beer and watermelon for supper.

I'm beat!!! To bed within the next 15-20 minutes...
Defending against audits is always taxing. Hope the watermelon whiskey helps!
