Sharpen chain 4 times then get new makes the
dealer pots of MONEY!!!!!!!

Many moons ago I cut a lot of firewood and never
had any problems using the 2 chains that I had, just
kept them sharp as dull chains take tooo long to cut
anything! I still have my old stihl 5 hp saw.

Did not think I was going to be able to lift and move it. No problem. White Oak.

Got a Dewalt 20V polesaw to help clear and cleanup from tornado damage trees. Worked better than expected. Being able to reach in debris to make cuts and trim 100s of grapple loads for transport. It’s not a commercial quality tool and have to be careful to not over stress it. Likes to be sharp. Sharpened more than four times without problems. Handy for quick pruning and trimming.

I got a small Dewalt 20v chainsaw.. completely useless, I put it back in the box and parked it on a shelf!

My wife bought one to use thinning little Ponderosa trees. She likes it. I use it while chipping her slash piles.

Beats tugging on a rope to cut a 3" in branch that Y's and wont go through the chipper throat. Anything more than that, forget it. It sucks.

I was looking for a battery saw to use from a bucket truck. I didn’t want another battery line to keep up with and quickly decided from watching videos the 20 volt dewalt wasn’t up to the task. If they’d have done like Makita and used 2 batteries it would probably be ok.

Yeah, I got this one because I have a lot of Dewalt stuff that takes the same battery, and a bunch of batteries. It just does not spin fast enough!

I admit it - at the risk of embarrassment - I sort of like my DeWalt 20v. I’ve been using it for downed branches 6 inches or less and so far it’s been fine. I go slow normally.

Plus - as someone says - wives like it much better than the bigger gas saws.

I have a couple Echo’s for bigger stuff and sure they are better. But they also are heavier.

Perhaps my expectations are low.

I'm fully invested in the DeWalt 20V architecture. The brushless tools are all really great, for the most part. Thinking about getting the 20v chainsaw so that my wife can use something in an emergency if I'm not home.

But I have to say, I'm not real impressed with the 20v pole saw. It's super grabby and likes to bind up in the branch and shut off. Lots of pulling out and trying again to get through most branches. Plus the non-telescoping pole is a real bummer.

If it’s grabby that’s something to do with the chain more then the saw itself. Depending on what I’m cutting, where I’m cutting, and conditions my chains can be completely different from the grind of the tooth to the depth gauge heights either of these two or a combination of the two will make stuff grabby fast.
