Read in the news that a woman who lived in the apartment was on the phone with her husband, and she was telling him the pool had collapsed and the building was shaking, she screamed and then the line went dead. She is one of the 156 missing people.

Some owners filed a $5M class action lawsuit over the collapse. Glad they are getting in line for money before their neighbors bodies have been recovered.

Building high rises on the sand never seemed like a good idea to me.

Sounds like the pancaking was already in progress.

I sure pray that they find survivors ASAP, this is a horrific event

This will be interesting, who the Owners will sue. Home owner's association? The City?

Open records on the structural study done in 2018 and planned repairs for 2021. I would not have spent a dime in that crumbling building.

So eventually every owner or owner's heirs will sue the owners association. I wonder if this same association had their insurance up to date and how the insurance policy deals with negligence of the owner's association. I wonder if the builder/designer are still in business.

NO!!! They have evacuated the part that is still standing along with the neighboring buildings. They did not evacuate the twin building (Champlain North...one block to the north) as of yet.
