69°F and .44 inches rain.

Remembered to pu battery for the craftsman mower yesterday, so should get that installed. The old one just wouldn’t hold a charge overnight.

H& F this afternoon

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

When I started the tractor to take off the brake would not release. I finally had an aha moment and figured it out and fixed it. Here is the pic, can you figure out how I fixed the braking problem?View attachment 707521

Picked up loader bucket or raised whatever was on the 3PH ?

74°F and rather foggy this morning, going up to 99° today. Front rumbling through overnight tonight will drop us back into the 80s for awhile.

Got some tall grass knocked down yesterday. We still have a low area between the new fence and the pond that stays wet after it rains, and I frequently can't mow there. It's been almost a month, and the grass had grown up to 5-6' in spots. Some of it was so big that it had started to segment like bamboo. Rolled the push trimmer out there and invested some sweat equity into it. Took me almost an hour-and-a-half, but it's done now ... just in time for more rain tonight and maybe Saturday.

Nice pictures, gents.

80.4F and sunny @ 13:30, feels like 85.1F, DP 73.8 ... headed up to a high of ... 80F.

Rain which was forecast for the overnight did not materialize ...

Still under a risk of severe thunderstorms until 08:00 Friday morning.

Next opportunity for rain appears to be on Sunday with around a 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms.

Would have liked to have had the rain for the lawn and the plants, but on the other hand the pad on the south side of the pole barn is not a muddy mess and the rest of it should be dry enough that getting the Kubota back in there won't be a problem.

Got quite a bit done on the pad yesterday, hauling more soil down and compacting it as best I could. Some parts are still too moist and it's like driving over foam or rubber. Good news is if no rain it will continue to dry/drain and firm up further.

Woman came over and trimmed back all the wild raspberry vines back and we raked up most of the debris and organic matter which I hauled up to the burn and compost piles. Also removed two 10' and 15' tall saplings (oak and ash), although the larger one broke off at the base and the stump will have to be dug out.

Next items on agenda for over there will be to clean up all the debris on the backside, check slope on the surface drain pipes, adjust if necessary, and then get those backfilled. Also a little more spraying to kill off any weeds that haven't fully died off yet. Wind seem fairly light at this point so may be able to get to that today.

Gutters also need cleaned out and gutter covers installed. And move a bunch of rocks ...

Woman and I got garden all weeded yesterday, she said she saw a groundhog out there this morning eating the tomato plants ... so get the t-posts installed might happen later.

Checked Nest Box No. 5 last night just before we came in, found three dead cicadas in it ...

Pulled the old valve off the water buffalo last night and got the hose nipple installed on the new valve, couldn't get the pipe nipple and 2" fitting off the other side ... do that today up in the shop with the vise.

Doesn't compare with Ron's outstanding photography, but I got one of this little guy at the feeder yesterday:

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

geez that sounds familiar Don, I made similar ruts by not picking up the rear carryall on my smaller Massey, left ruts for ten feet in the lawn while I thought why is this running so feebly?...

tornado alert just posted for wide area from Eastern PA down to here in DE.

Correct. When it feels like the brake will not release, always make sure your box blade is up.
One of my favorite tricks. Usually leave a pile of whatever was under it when I finally figure it out, then have to smooth it back down with the FEL.

Yep, I smoothed out the mound accumulation of yard and road with the FEL, then hand raked the torn out lawn grass and disposed of it, and raked out the tractor tracks to get rid of all evidence.🥷

65F nice steady soaking rain lasting into darkness.

Been busy day 8 on the job than dash home to mow the lawn before the rain arrive, lawn cut mower quick clean put away 20mins water droplets falling from the sky.

Looks like slow motion evening and early bed time.

Enjoy your evening all.

It was raining steadily when I got home....too wet to run the tractor on the lawn (to pull up the remaining split rail fence posts)...no biggie...probably a weekend job anyway. Tomorrow looks like a repeat of today as far as the weather and precipitation.

Bit cool here this afternoon...might have to consider pajamas for tonight's bedtime

New bore (well) pump fitted and operating. Heaps of pressure. Water is 25 meters below ground surface and pump is submerged another 35 meters under the water so I was pleased to see that there is heaps of water. Just got to re-erect the shed over the pump now and secure the starter box and power switch etc.
