New question on redoing the seals. Put the seals in the cap without too much difficulty. I used the 3D printed tools to get two of the large diameter seals on. Worked great. Oddly, the hardest one to get in, the dust seal, is the one I expected NO trouble with.

Got ready to think about doing the piston seals when I noticed the smaller o-ring, that goes in the piston "head" and bears up against the shoulder/stop on the rod is not in the seal kit.

Puzzled, I went to the IPL and, sure enough, that o-ring is not shown. Not for any of the cylinders, not just the dipper stick cylinder. There has been an o-ring in that position in every cylinder I've done. All 3 of them.

So, how do I get a replacement. I'm not a hydraulics expert by any stretch but I'd say if it is there, it serves a purpose and should be renewed. Sure, I could take to to a hydraulics shop and ask them to sell me one, but, why isn't a cheap (?) o-ring on the IPL and include in the kit? I can ask Messicks that question on Monday, but, if Kubota does not show it . . .

I'm sure this is not a new problem, just new to me.

I worked at a Kubota dealer. They quit sending and we quit installing those o rings. It will work fine without it. I did all the cylinders during my time there. I mean I was the cylinder fixer.

That astonishes me. I'd think there could be leakage (bypass) at that point. Guess not.

I got one from place down the road sells fitting and makes hoses. Farms out the cylinder work.

Question about the cylinder head (cap). Is there a torque value, or just "good and tight"?

Gudntite seems to be working just fine.
