Restarting My '70 Nova Project

I had a friend in high school that was held back twice, so he was 18 his sophomore year. He had a job at a junkyard that a relative of his owned. And he had another relative with a body shop. So he got two wrecked 69 chargers, one with rear end damage and one with front end damage, cut them in half and put them together. Orange with black trim and vinyl top. Only had a 318, but man, was that a great looking car.

Creepy fact: when he was salvaging the one with front end damage, he was up under the dash and found a shoe with a human foot in it. YIKES!
Was it a lead foot? Considering both had been wrecked....

Fiery crash on the toll road. He had to call the county police, they came out and called the coroner. Coroner took the foot.

I had 3 of the 68 Dodge Chargers over the year, all different engine setups. I currently have a 66 Chevy in the garage, just reminders of the good times in my youth!

NICE
I had a '69 SS396 L78 375hp Nova back in the early '70s, and always wanted another. Finally, in 2010 I found this '70 SS 350 L48 300hp for sale in WI and bought it. It had rust issues, so after driving it for a couple years, I decided to restore it. The body man that replaced all the metal did an outstanding job.
Pictures of my old '69 and my '70. They were the same maroon color.

Dunno if I want to report such abject **** in a thread about Chevies, but with a 10/10 on your execution I'm hesitant to be 'that guy'. :)

Thanks guys, It was a real blast to drive. I eventually sold it to get ahead on the house mortgage.
It is one of the rigs I really do miss.

Great pics by the OP, Nice looking work and "someday" Hope to also be able to do a full frame off rotisserie restoration on a car or two we still do own.

ps. mom bought a 1st design Jeepster brand new in 1948. She still tells me about how she misses it.
I had a good friend in high school with a 1970 light Blue Nova. He built a couple different 396's for it- Nice car, he ran it with the 350 emblems :)

Is it my imagination or does the front look a little weighted down?

Think my sister had a nova, didn’t think they were special back then. Should have kept it.

At one time I had 13 different 62 - 67 Chevy II Novas, SS ,2drs, 4 drs station wagons, about 3 or 4 were running at 1 time. But. I had lots of spare parts. What I didn't wreck, tear up transmissions, rear ends, blown motors. My pop was really pi##ed off at the amount torn up junk in his field!!. Fellow that dirt track raced came by and bought it all. The deal was he he'd to take all the scrap first then he could take the cars. Took him 3 -4 weekends but he got it all. All of those cars are real collectibles today . This brings back so many good memories. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. !!!

Most of a same model/series I know of is Tom H. 8 or 9 Fieros. Four are garaged and operable. The rest are parked in one home's yard.

So jealous. I had a ‘72, ‘73, ‘66, and a ‘70.
The ‘66 was the prettiest, (blue on blue) the ‘73 was the best cruiser, (350 with 3” duals over the axle and down) and the ‘70 was the fastest. (Blown 350/M22)

I had a brand new 68 Dodge Charger R/T with the 440 engine. Needed 93 octane gas. Raced a corvette from 60 to 120 and he quit at 120 and the Charger was still accelerating. It would idle at 30 MPH. As they say, the only thing that beats cubic inches is cubic feet.
