I'm a bit of a loner by nature, and have fantasized about living off the grid out in the boonies. Not sure the reality would be quite as appealing though. No demons to speak of.I think many of us have craving to be a hermit like this guy. Often many reasons for it which are associated with demons we don't want to face.
Yeah, I kind of wondered how he got the material in there to build his place without attracting the attention of the powers-that-be. I presume Canterbury has building regulations and someone to enforce them. Seems like delivering materials by the river would attract some attention. There must have been some sort of road to his place if the fire dept, etc. was able to get in there. It was no shack... two story building with solar, plus a chicken house and who knows what else. Presumably Home Depot delivered the lumber and solar panels by via barge on the river.
I totally do not get the whole "social influencer" thing. I will admit to not knowing much about social media and how it works, but how do these "influencers" get discovered by enough people to generate a following? Are there that many people that lost that they look to Twitter, et al for life guidance?Become a "social influencer", make the rounds on the internet and have people give you money because you're famous on the internet.
I'm sorry, but exactly what do the Kardashians do that merits so much interest in our society that they are famous for basically doing nothing?
Panhandling for money on a streetcorner is for chumps. The real money is on the internet. Create a blog, get people to follow, get a large following and the money will come.

At least the Kardashians (and Mama Boo Boo or whatever her name was, the duck dynasty bunch, etc.) had tv shows with plenty of staged drama.
Great... another grifter hits pay dirt. Here is a link to both the latest story as well as the story our local "Chronicle" did on him a few years ago. Eye opening and stuff I didn't know about.
Hermit? Not sure I'd call him that.
Social Security
Post Office Box
Cell phone
Satellite TV
Interesting Indeed.

I am getting the impression you are skeptical of this guy. I am as well. He made out like a bandit and with these internet contributions he is doing even better.I suspect that ay least some of his lumber/wood came from on site. At the very least, it's very doubtful that he hauled in his firewood.
