NT&E stores have in house techs that do minor repair on their equipment. If your store doesn't,the last time i needed help I called the Plano Tx store. He told me how to fix it on the phone. I have a Northstar washer w/Honda engine and Cat pump that has surpassed my expectations and still going strong.

Did you add oil to the pressure washer?
UPDATE I had emailed NT over the weekend and expected to receive a reply today Monday. Ample opportunity to get back to me given the time zone diff. No word so I phoned and went through the telephone tree, was connected with a tech guy, most pleasant. We just don't see it being a pump issue. Maybe stuck valve. Anyway NT guy said take it to a Honda shop which I have done. I'll keep you posted and let y'all know if I am a dunce, if the warranty is good, and what kind of mood I am in when it is all said and done. Cheers.
The Final word. I took it in to the Honda authorized dealer and they said nothing wrong with it and I need to follow instructions. Well gents. This big motor is more than I can turn over. I like to thing I am farm ready even though I aint twenty two any more. I Can't start this "nice machine". I'm gonna sell it at a loss to get it out of my frigging sight. It shouldn't be sold with out electric start. I have run equipment all my life and this purchase is nothing but a disappointment.

I am almost 81 years old, and have no trouble starting my GX390 powered pressure washer.

I have a honda motor on mine (don't know if red or black) And I cannot pull on it IF the water is turned on. I leave water off, release any pressure on the wand, Pulls over and cranks like a dream, then turn water on real quick! Only way I can start it!

cut off the water. Relieve the pressure and try to start it. If you can, turn water back on. 30 seconds with just a bit of water in it is no issue.
