Yup, and the entire time those pedestrians & bicyclists are on there they are either peddling or walking in a hamster cage to generate the power necessary, correct? The vessel will operate within the area of Kiel, between Reventlou and Wellingdorf and has a capacity of 140 pedestrians and 60 bicycles. It is expected to enter service at the end of the year 2020. The project is supported by the state department of traffic and digital infrastructure of the German government as part of the clean-air-program.
Yes, the limit on geothermal has been getting them to run profitably. If processing geothermal brine is a profit center, they move from being a power generation plant to being a co-gen facility. Geothermal is well understood but, as you point out, it's outrageously expensive to run. Brine mining might tip the scale a bit. Nobody is in the business of making electricity for free.Larry Caldwell said:
One huge energy source that is almost undeveloped is geothermal. The whole world is waking up to that thanks to the demand for battery lithium.
I've was around geothermal plants in my youth, do you know what a maintenance nightmare they are? The Sulphur, etc destroys vanes, piping, boilers, etc, etc. How much do you save if you are changing out parts all the time to keep it running? How much (in the way of emissions) crap, as many call it, is put up in the air producing the spare parts? Since you probably live close to El Centro (from Salton sea inference) check with the maintenance folks that work on those dirty plants around there.
Almost no shopping center has fast charging bays, at any price.A lot of shopping centres and car parks have free fast charging bays here
A Tesla Wall Connector is $550 for up to 17 kW. Not all Teslas can accept the full 17 kW. Requires a 240VAC 90A circuit. If you install close to your distribution panel then parts will be less than $100. A Tesla Wall Connector comes with the car. My old one was 9.6kW for the full abilities of a NEMA 14-50 (the common RV 50A hook up) but newer may be a bit less.... and if we went for an electric car we can get a deal with the power companies for $1 a day to charge, unfortunately the charging platform is cost prohibitive to make it a deal for me and we live too far away from charging stations.
I seem to recall seeing that a Tesla charger is about $20k.
I've still never seen a charging station.
You inferred you wouldn’t know what one looked like.*in person
I can't charge a vehicle via a photo.
