Buckeye, good load of pellets. Tree is down. More firewood? Thanks for fixing picture.

.

I don’t have chimney to burn wood (I have. A wood stove), but use some for camping. So this will get moved aside. After the 1st 3rd of the tree fell on power lines, power co came and cut a huge tree down near this tree (I think by mistake) nothing was wrong with that tree, and they left the rotten tree standing. The tree they cut blocked the trail for over a year before I pulled it out with tractor and pushed to edge of creek yard.

It would make a lot of firewood.

It would make a lot of firewood.

It sure would. Big rounds to pick up to get onto logsplitter, might have to split vertically.

Baked okra turned out good. After 1 minute in the Instant pot it produced enough slime so that the cornmeal/garlic powder/onion powder/paprika/ pepper mixture stuck to the okra. Then in the oven for 45 minutes.
looks like weed....to me.

i have a 2600 ft 2 inch water pipe that drops from the road about 80 ft from street to house. water pressure was measured at 115 psi at the street so it must be much higher at the house.

the supplies to the garage/apartment and the house are both pressure controlled to about 50 psi.

i left one outlet at full pressure with a cap on it.

whoops.

Morning all, cloudy/smoky here?
Got plantings done, we will see if any squirrels left to dig them up.

Alien- hope the steel comes in sooner- seems everyone is waiting for supplies
Phil-how big was that hole that it took out the brackets?
Franken- new fountain. Hope you can get that shutdown before you have a new pond!

Stay safe and be well,

Good Morning
It’s 50 and going to 75 here in Wichita today.

The light is at the end of the tunnel, looks like l’ll be heading home Friday in the plane we came out in. Two others will wait until next week to bring the new one back.

Neighbor and sons have been working hard to help my wife get ready for her farm open house this weekend, looks like they are ready. I’m getting antsy to get back.

i had put a 2 inch 1/4 turn shutoff valve below everything so it's off now. i was a little disappointed with one of the pvc fittings buried about 1/2 way down a 2600 ft run.

About 1 month ago i had a 2 inch right angle pvc fitting fail, just a hairline crack in the outside radius but under 125 psi it was like a fire hose.

Ok Kyle, you got me. Soon found a favorite sushi place in town after we moved and I made it a point to try every sushi on the menu, around 35 as I recall. None were cooked. So what is a cooked sushi roll?

Sadly, this is one of our places still not recovered from pandemic.
It had cooked tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, cream cheese, jalapeno, and covered with the spicy mayo and eel sauce. Really good. There were 3 middle aged or older Japanese men preparing the food.

Nice work on your new quarters.

71 going to 79...no rain, just a sprinkle. More promised later, but the weather forecasts are frequently missing the target.

Buppies, glad you got a good rain.

BEF, glad you got that tree moved. Sorry you can't use all of the firewood.

Washed 16 more windows yesterday, and scrubbed the white trim on the north side of the barn...algae really liked this summer. Got things looking good for my wife's yoga group today and then others for the weekend.

I'd go for that right now.

I completed my 1,000th coffee roast this weekend

Wng, thought about your coffee roasting when I was by the big pond the other day.
From a distance part of it looked like a rich dark roast with cream floating on top, except when I got closer ...

roasted coffee.jpg

The "cream" topping was actually goose feathers.
Unfortunately the rich dark brown colouring also came out of a goose (probably many many dozens of geese). Poking it with a stick proved it was not at all like coffee and definitely not something you would want to wake up and smell ! :giggle:

Kyle-being lactose intolerant I hate when Sushi places use cream cheese.
I never saw this in Japan and it seemed to start in Philly.
The rest sounds really good though.

Good Morning! The cold front finally pushed the heat out. 59˚F heading to the 80 with clear sunny skies.

I emptied the compost bin into Whippers baby swimming pool and it is drying out. It should not have got wet over a month ago but the water comes in by the lid. I 'll take a couple of buckets to the garden and also use some with peat moss and pearlite to energize the potted plants around the house.

Wngsprd, That is a lot of roasted beans.

Frankenkubota, you may need glasses or new glasses.

kenmbz, a homemade non-dairy sour cream is easy to make (but not easy to find in a restaurant). Soak a cup of raw cashews, after they are soft add 1tbsp lemon juice, 1//2 to 3/4 cup water, 1 1/2 tbs apple cider vinegar, 1/4 tsp salt. In a bullet blender blend till smooth.

I agree with you Drew on the eel sauce, Eric's pond water would probably tase better.

55°F and clear skies this morning, only going up to 72° today. We may be down in the mid-40s tonight. Autumn arrived a few hours early this year.

Rained here most of the day yesterday, mostly just light stuff. Was still drizzling a bit when I went to bed. All that stuff is headed towards you guys out east.

We've been see a lot of giant mushrooms at our place, too, BEF.
