I'm looking at used Kubotas right now and am wondering what year I can count on them starting to have computers and common rail systems as standard.

TIA

By January 2013 all the pre-Tire IV desirable models were sold........in my part of Florida.

I'm not talking about emissions, I'm specifically wanting to know when common rail injection and associated computers came on the Kubota scene

If they happened at the same time, then you have answered my question, thanks!

Trucks got it in the mid 90s. Tractors got it later. I doubt there’s a definitive date for everything but it was when they started with the latest emissions stuff.

I don't know the dates with Kubota, but I do know that common rail and computers didn't have to happen at the same time as each other or at the same time as emissions controls - although doing any of those at the same time would be convenient.

As an example, I know that computer control of the fuel injection rate was common in John Deeres back in 2001 when they still had individual cylinder injection - and the ones I'm thinking of didn't have any emissions control at all.

I'd like to know more about this myself, and hope someone answers with some better information.

Off-road Diesel engines had emissions limits in the US as early as 1996 and no later than 2000. Emissions thresholds and remedies vary, but the emissions limits are real.

I believe around 2014 was when Kubota went with common rail and ECM control.
