JD 4024 Doosan compressor
I have a Doosan compressor powered by a JD 4024 with only 1900 hrs. On a test run, the sump filled with fuel up to the dip stick. I was wondering what could be causing this to happen.

On that engine there are 4 individual fuel pumps built into the engine, one for each cylinder and they are operated off cam shaft. They are a SOB to replace and are supposed to be done in sets. I don't know how you would test to know which one would be the culprit.

Here is a video showing a little bit of it.

Well, if it’s leaking that bad..
U could remove the steel line and put an air hose to the pump and injectors and listen for a hiss..
Just a thought..

You've seen more pumps than most. What's your opinion on the JD 4024 repair?

Very expensive to repair..
The fuel system WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY WATER what so ever..

Not sure what to make of that. The OP has fuel in the sump; no mention of water anywhere.
