Yeh, sitting is real good when you got nice level ground. But standing is real good when you don't...legs make for good shock absorbers, whereas the butt & spine not so much.

Eat more cookies... you'll get a shock absorbing seat. ;)

That is really nice, but at $17000, you’d have to mow a lot of lawns.
Yeh for sure, that pricing for me is like NOPE! But it's just a matter of time, as this tech becomes the norm, pricing will come down.

Back in the 2001, my stepson bought a 48" LCD screen TV, paid like >$4k for it. This year, me and the wife splurged on a 65" LG 4k OLED. $1,850. So there ya go.

I wonder if it will become illegal to use my 1980 Zenith Console TV because it's not Energy Star rated?

We have a 50" plasma TV that consumes 600 watts when it's on. It actually heats half of the living room in winter. You can stand in front of it to get warm! Since my wife is now working from home, and I turn it on at 6pm through usually midnight, it's on for close to 10 hours per day. It's like having a blow dryer running on low for 10 hours. I'm looking for a newer TV that consumes way less power. Like about 1/5 of the power or less.

Also, the picture quality of old TVs (CRT) is a no go for me anymore. Also, the aspect ratio is horrible. You're missing a lot of the picture (no pun intended) that the director meant you to see. It's cutting off the sides.

With that said, I'd put it in the back of an 80's Cutlass wagon and park it in the barn... :p

Speaking of that, what model 80's car do you have? You always seem to have an interesting specimen. (y)

Keep the TV. For years we had a "portable" 13" cathode-ray-tube television with dial on/off/volume and UHF/VHF channel selectors in the kitchen. My then 18 year old son quipped, "You don't need a burglar alarm, anyone who sees those dials will realize this is not the house to hit."

The TV was a Father's day present from us kids to dad... he was really thrilled.

Hi entire life he owned 3 TV's... an old Philco with the pivoting tube ad seen on some sci-fi movies and in 1965??? bought a Zenith Color Console... it's the only time we were early adopters... I mean ever!

Dad had a friend in the business and said try it... if you don't like it bring it back...

For weeks it was a parade of neighbors coming Saturday mornings to see the TV... Mighty Mouse was in vivid color.

Within a year just about all had bought color.

Lots of new Channel Master antennas going up too.

So from 65 to 80 had that TV and tuner was going out so had to wiggle it...

Hard to imagine TV 3 is 40 years old and used daily... even had space command with hard to find J battery.

Zenith... the quality goes in before the name goes on...
