Front-End Loader 3pt weight

Made 1981 for 2wd tractors. Pulled a lot timber out of the woods and trip bucket manure FEL stall cleaning.
Used an old kitchen counter water heater tank, scrap steel and hand mixed concrete. Very handy at the time but use with 4wd tractors is none. Used as outdoor anvil or weight for proof testing FEL man basket supports.

Yes definitely. Always have some 3pt attachments or backhoe.

4wd and better FEL a game changer on the farm.

4wd has nothing to do with the need for loader counterweight.

4WD just means you can get dig 4 holes to get stuck instead of just two....

Had to look. Think that lichen growing on it lives outside. Farm has a few bullet holes. One property pin is a gun barrel.

Ingenuity and recycling! And as noted below it also acts as a good target. This is what farming is all about.

I can see how that would get the job done back in the day, looks like the top pin might be a little hard to remove after all this time.

The top pin was some of scrap used to build. The bends lock in in place. Always meant to replace with a proper pin. The square holes in RR plates might not take a 3/4” round pin. Has lasted lots of jerking. Snaking out logs with chain wrapped around the top. Spin out then play out feet of chain to get going again.

Probably appreciate the improved braking as much as the added driving traction of 4wd.
