Tractor
Present: 2003 Kubota M9000 DTF; 2001 Kubota B72. Sold: 1985 Kubota L2202
That's what I've got week ago. I don't know, do I really need it, but it's too late to discuss. The price paid €5400 with 1.21 m width tiller included. Lets say it'll be dedicated for some small jobs (yard mowing, firewood preparation...). It has CAT0 hitch type, which I'll transform into CAT1. If anyone has any good or bad experience with such tractor, please share.

If someone might ask me what is its brand name, I would answer I don't know. The only place with a sticker of well known brand name is on a steering wheel. But no marking anywhere else.

And here is a VIN plate, which says me nothing except engine type D905, engine power 15 hp at 2500 rpm, and max 2700 rpm.

This is indeed grey market tractor, but the company, which sold me this toy is well developed and supplies whatever parts for them.

Have I done a big mistake or not very?

I got Google translate to work on the right side of the sticker:

The left side is "
Agricultural machinery type
Agricultural machinery Model name
Classification Vehicle model name
Chassis number
Engine model
Continuous rated output
No load Maximum rotation speed
Manufacturer"

For sure I've searched info of it everywhere. Just I am confused that there is no mark on a bonnet or on the front grill as Kubota usually do. That led me to the question, why?

I'm very thankful for your valuable feedback, especially for translations.

One more thing I'd like to know is there an analogue of this tractor in the U.S.? Because as we know Kubota tractors of the same model may differ if they are produced for different countries or regions. Or sometimes even model name could be different. The first registration year of this tractor according to the seller is 2001.

This is a Kubota tractor, however, these are usually sold on the Asian market under other names. Zen Noh for instance comes right to my mind on the older Kubota's.

Many of these tractors had some nice features like 3 pt auto leveling, bi speed, auto lift for the 3 pt once you hit reverse and many more. Sadly, these often get ripped off during use or during the import process, since they literally shove these things into a 40 ft container and ship it to whoever pays more for it.

The rear wheel hub looks different....how does that work?

The axle is a hex shaft and the hub has the matting hex that can slide in and out to adjust track width.

The shaft has a set of holes drilled through it and a pin will drop in to lock the rim in place. There is also two set screws to take any aditional play out.

Yeah, I have already adjusted rear track width, made it wider. Because it also affects to the width of the lift arms of the 3 pt hitch in case of CAT1. In CAT0 case it doesn't matter.

Not sure if it helps any, but for anyone who is interested in a closer look on this tractor, here is a video. It's in Russian though, but shows some of the features.

Thank you for posting this video. On my tractor all functions shown here work perfectly.

Sounds like a good deal to me!
Thank you. Up to now I myself was at 50/50 about this deal. From now it changed to 70/30. We'll see how it works.

There are some more pics of the tractor while it was at the seller stock.

Don't feel bad about your purchase. These tractors are very handy to have and will go in places that the bigger ones can't go.

I don't know about your uses, but for me, one of these smaller tractors would be great for tilling the ground as close as possible to the trees on the orchards, while the bigger tractor would handle the rest of the tilling. Same for mowing the brush or grass.

This is just a couple of examples, there are plenty uses for these small tractors, specially once you convert it to a Cat 1 hitch.

If you really can't find a use for it, I'm sure you can easily sell it for what you paid.

Definitely Japanese language on the nameplate/sticker.

Kubota is written many times in Japanese Katakana, which is one of two phonetic ways of writing the Japanese language.

Japanese use a version of Chinese kanji characters in their written language. Lots of kanji on the nameplate as well, which I assume are the version of characters used by Japanese.

Just mentioning this to add to the conclusion that it is a Japanese product and not Chinese.

Edit: By the way, looks like a nice tractor!

My '90s Kubota B7100 had that, minus the set screws.

The '70s B7000 I had did too. However the set screws would come slightly use and the wheels would just wobble quite a bit. Mostly due to wear on the shaft and hub. Who knows hour many hours that thing had before I bought it 22 years ago.

Usually I'm using a walk-behind mower to cut the grass on the alley (about 100 m long) and around the house. Well I'm already not a youngster, it takes me 2 days to do this job. Hope this tractor will help to reduce cutting time up to few hours.

Yes, there are a lot of many other small jobs to do with it. And I love its versatility comparing to the lawn tractor.
