Otherwise, Life360 is pretty good but you do need to be able to make sure you have admin control over the kids phone so they can't disable it.

Do you plead guilty and then take the class?

Do they have "Prayer for Judgement continued" in Tenn? I'm guessing not.

Ironically enough my wife mentioned this to me on our walk on Sunday that our son had research this option.

Point is every state is different when it comes to their traffic laws.

I did hire an attorney (which my son is paying for out of his pocket) and I asked him (the lawyer) about this "prayer" judgement. He recommended against it and gave me a list of reasons why per my son, it would be his last choice per a course of action which actually made complete sense to me. Reality is I'm not an expert when it comes to law, and IMO is nice to know your options from someone who does know the law.

At the end of the day, we're not fighting the ticket by hiring a lawyer, but hopefully having the charges reduced. Luckily he wasn't charged with reckless driving at that "home run" speed.

Besides that, since my son is paying the tab, he will deal with the lawyer one on one himself and decide which course he wants to go. I figure it will give him a better understanding of the law and why a lawyer can be a good thing.

End of day, will be less expensive per the insurance with the lawyer route rather than he just pleads guilty.

I didn’t have to do anything besides pay the state their money and then go sit in the ridiculous excuse for a driving school for 4 hours. And nothing went on my record. I had 3 options. Go to court and possibly get it thrown out. Rumor at the time was the judge never throws anything out so I didn’t go that option. Option 2 pay them the fine of around $100. Options 2 go to driving school for around $100 and maintain a clean record. Oh and I was driving 30 in what was 5 minutes prior a 30 zone. But despite school not letting out until 2:45 it turns to a school zone at 2:15. And it was the road behind the high school that shouldn’t be a school zone anyway. I’m still sour about that one.

We just use the find my iPhone feature and my wife, one of our kids, and I can all see where the other one is. Doesn't give any stats, but we know how far away they are. and when to start the dinner. (y)
You can "share your location" with other people in google maps; when they look at google maps they'll see an icon where you are. As you stated, there are no stats (speed etc) but location is nice especially when you know they're on a long road trip.

(This obviously doesn't meet the op's needs - especially as it's trivial to turn off.)

I used to take my kids to school every morning. Sometimes, if traffic was bad up ahead, I'd take this little side street with a 90 degree curve along the side of a school to avoid the backup. A cop lived on the curve. One morning I'm driving along and the cop is backing out of his driveway, finally sees me and slams on his brakes as I go by. I get two blocks away by a different school and see his red lights on behind me. I stop. He comes up and asks if I know what the speed limit is back there. I say 20? He says NO! It's 25! To which I reply by saying GOOD! Because I was going about 18, because if I took that curve at 25 this van would tip over. Here, take my van and go drive that curve at 25 and see if you don't roll it over. Do you know how fast you had to drive to catch up to me two blocks away? Probably 40 in two school zones. Let's face it, you didn't defrost your windows, didn't see me coming, backed out and almost hit me, got mad at yourself, and want to take it out on me. My wife told me to be quiet at that point. I thought maybe he'd get me out of the van and lump me up good after that. :ROFLMAO: He shook his head, walked back to his car and drove off. The kids had to explain to their friends why their dad got pulled over in front of the school that day.

And that's about the last time I can recall having a traffic altercation with a police officer. Maybe 20 years ago. 🙃
