I really want one of these now. It is an EV. Get to the part where they "mod" the vehicle! Its kind of like a golf cart but with a cab and heat. They are only $1200. Seriously for a quick run to the store it could be nice!

And school buses are yellow.

You know what that has to do with the discussion?

Nothing.

Same as your reply above.

So you're agreeing with my statement that there IS a mandate in California?

Thanks for the affirmative reply.

Make sure to respond to airbiscuit and steppenwolfe that they are WRONG and that there is indeed, a state government that has mandated that you can no longer buy an ICE vehicle after a certain date.

Not sure why they are confused by that, but I'm sure you can clear it up for them by putting up another sunset picture.
Your profile says you live in North Dakota. I'm not sure why you are agitated about what California does. Are you planning on moving there or what?

"Current incentives allow residential solar customers to sell whatever energy they don’t use back to power companies at the retail rate for power, usually resulting in a big discount on their energy bills. But power companies say the savings are now so great that solar customers are no longer paying their fair share for the operation of the overall energy grid. "
That is still an unresolved issue with domestic solar. Somebody has to pay for the grid, and allowing solar customers to connect without paying screws everyone. It's simple enough to separate connection fees from delivery fees. It is also simple enough to only pay wholesale rates for any power they want to sell the utility.

Solar has gotten so cheap that I expect the solar incentives to vanish in the near future. Conservation is good for everyone, so I think those incentives will continue indefinitely.

For my last City house I never did Solar. We are a $0.07/kW and it would have taken me 22 years to make the investment back...even with selling to the utility. No way, it was too expensive.

To me the only way it works is for the electric company to fully install and maintain the solar system on a home and just charge the normal rates they charge. Homeowner doesn't pay anything for the solar system. Do any states have that?

Maybe it’s because unfortunately what happens in California seems to be forced upon the other states.

This reinforces my EV point.
What is the purpose of going electric?
According to EV proponents it's to save planet Earth, get rid of nasty polluting coal and petroleum.
Also because since that EV can be charged at home either free by sunshine or at a free or inexpensive public station you're getting 150 mpg equivalent.
Therefore these gigaplex factories, the public and private charging systems whether wind, solar, hydro, or nuclear...that entire process start to finish...building million sq.ft. factories, tons of steel, other metals and plastics, manufacturing those 100Ks of EVs, batteries, solar panels, wind turbines, nuclear plant production, the recycling process...all of that...ALL of it causes zero pollution, zero environmental impact, and the end result is we'll now have (by 2035, 2050 whenever ICE everything is phased out and no more petroleum) we'll now have pure, clean air and water while stopping global warming since nothing in that process creates heat.
Clean, pure, cool free or inexpensive electric.
I'm totally amazed!
I'm so grateful for those in power, the CEOs, etc having our best interest at heart.
WOW!!!!!
Oh, I'm sorry, have to go now...Santa and the Tooth Fairy are at the door...

Nirvana fallacy

If you would look around you would see how EV sales are growing month over month without mandates. You cannot mandate people to buy something that does not exist. Tesla the world EV poster boy only plan to be adding 20,000,000 new EVs annually by 2030 which is 9 years from now. Ford is years away from filling F-150 Lightning preorders. Look around and the only EV mandate is coming from the general public. Don't let others trip you up during the EV paradyme shift.
Does the California mandate have even the slightest impact on car buying decisions today?Of course it does.
Someone buying a car in CA in the near future is realizing in 13 years, they will no longer be sold in CA turns them off.
Those mandates are “shaping” buying decisions already! Even though they don’t take affect for 13 years.
Even proposed or rumored mandates have a chilling effect :)

Gee...sure wished I was half as smart as you...avoiding the truth with nonsense.
Soooooo you then believe the construction of these gargantuan facilities, the manufacturing of EVs, batteries, solar panels, etc., causes NO-zero pollution, no environmental impact, no heat.
Amazing!
Gee you're intelligent!
