Yep. I think it is supposed to take 6 mos of testing and adjustment. They they will start sharing time with projects. Remarkable engineering.

Those waiting for PICTURES must stop to realize that the JWT operates in the Infra Red spectrum. That is, it forms images from Electromagnetic energy outside of the visible spectrum. (UV instruments are already "out there) Any and ALL "images" taken directly with the camera through it's set of spectrum selective filters will have FALSE colors assigned by the image rendering artist. Image Plane Detectors ONLY "see" yes or no, with time as the intensity factor (gray scale)

Most of these "color" assignments are to bring out contrast and enhance the drama of the various frequency dependent emissions from any observed object. They are ASSIGNED FALSE "COLORS" just to please the human eye. The layman loves the images, and that love keeps NASA in funding. The Science is done through numerical values and KNOWING which elements are responsible for which wavelengths, With consideration of temperatures estimated/calculated for the objects being observed. (Think RED SHIFT due to receding velocity)

Keep your wits about you. All is not as it may appear! ;-)

My "guess" is that objects far away will not rival those more nearby in appearance. The dramatic difference will show it's self in the numerical data.

Interesting to think that the light from the stars have probably red shifted for very high frequency, maybe x-ray, down to infrared.

I agree but we have no means to get most anywhere,,,, everything is so, so far away. Even the nearest star is. (Outside of our sun)
