60 degrees and cloudy today. Last night we got 1 3/4" rain—the most in one event since 2020. It was the second measurable precipitation we've had since October. And the only other was 1/4". Had drought all summer, too.

We are under a winter storm warning for tonight. 4-5" snow forecast and winds gusting to 35 mph. Likely power outages.

I've got her fueled, just jettisoned the bucket, and hooked up the blade. I'm ready. Have not used the blade, got it with the tractor last February. Last summer I added the rubber edge, hoping to spare my old asphalt. Also have gravel and my daughter's long uphill gravel driveway next door.

The snow has mostly melted off the south slopes, north slopes still have a foot or so, flat areas 4" to 6". 24 degrees this morning, in the 40s this afternoon, rain and 40 mph wind starting tonight, snow level to 7000' and minor flooding predicted by Wednesday. Typical first of the year weather.

I should mention that we have three fronts predicted to move off the Pacific in the next four days. They will be coming your direction.

Only of interest on the coast: +9.7' king tide predicted for noon today, probably more as you head north. Those mud flats and beaches are definitely going to be under water.

44° and windy yesterday with a downpour last night, almost all of our xmas snow gone this morning. Whent to town upper 30s and low forties. Heavy fall of grappel started about 1500 ft from our driveway, ground was white when we got to the house. Freezing rain and snow mix since, a bit of an ice storm. Reports of numerous spin outs and multiple vehicle pileups since.

We have yet to have any snow this season and the 2" finally forecast for Thursday just got cancelled and is turning to the south. We have bare ground, green grass and our first really cold snap still hasn't happened.
