Just to mention ....... Here we are in the first week of the new year in upstate New York and I still have not had to get the tractor out for snow or shovel the roof.
12 more weeks and we can pull the blower off.

Also here in upstate NY and Sarg just jinxed us..... I'm hoping for another mild winter. The pond is frozen over but there's no frost in the ground and we only have a light dusting of snow.

I pondered the jinx factor after I posted .......... but I anticipated we would already have been buried ...... just based on how remarkably "wet" the last year has been.

4 out of the last 5 I have had the blower out. Only had a few inches each day culminatine in 5 on the 4th day. Today only clearing a small plow berm from the state's donation into my drive. Dry out hear. Way behind on moisture last year and amount of out 'wet season' started out about normal but we are behind again.

Weird winter here in Michigan also only had to snowplow one time.

Some of us enjoy the snow and cold, it’s kind of hard to ice fish without it. I haven’t plowed yet though.

I can't imagine snow and cold and enjoy in the same sentence. We had a "dusting" of snow the other day, and that was enough for me. It was gone in a few hours as i think the ground is just too warm. I hate snow and all of its cousins.

Same here. I have always loved the Cold and enjoy it as I am an indoor person.

Though our Fall/Winter has been relatively mild, it's been filled with huge swings. Temp changes of 30-40 degrees in 24 hrs. LOT of wind. Only one snow and it was only half what the weather dreamers said it would be. In cold temps today, 3F this morning. Tomorrow starts a warm up and then consistent weather for the next ten days with no moisture and temp highs of mid 30s, lows high teens.

Last year we had an easy Winter until February then we were bitterly cold for 3 weeks straight.

I think it is wet enough now to light up my huge burn pile. Maybe tomorrow morning with the help of some old oil and diesel and not too much wind.

Not me. If I was rich I would work in summer, then take the winter off to go snow sledding, snow shoeing, and ice fishing.

Well...darn. 6" of powdery fluff last night. Went to town for coffee. Had only minor problem getting through the state's plow berm then got totally stupid on the way home. Stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLOW BERM to pick up my newspaper. Just as I came to full stop I realized what I had done. Yep, couldn't move an inch. Out with snowblower after breakfast and cleared everything but where the car was, took a breakl, grabbed shoves and cleared snow around car. Pulled right out. Back on the blower t clear that spot in the driveway....nope. Wheel fell off blower with just one short pass to finish.

Managed to get the wheel back on but almost gave myself a hernia getting the machine up where I could slip the wheel on. Horsed 60' back to the garage and only had to work the wheel further back on the axle a few time. Close inspection showed that the drive mechanism is 1/4" bolt that pins the wheel to the axle. Near as I can tell it is just a comon grade bolt. Waiting for a buddy to show up and help get that side off the ground so we can match up the wheel/axle holes.

I really enjoy cold weather in winter, and hot weather in summer. I'm just as happy walking on a Lake Michigan beach when it's 95F or sitting on an overturned bucket in the middle of a frozen lake when it's -10F. Anytime outside is enjoyable for me.
