Online tv question

Youtube tv has like 70 different channels plus all my local channels. I only watch sports, news, and a few networks...but the main draw for me is the DVR function. It has unlimited storage and it's stupid simple to record shows, sports, and other things to watch when it's convenient to you.

Does YouTube TV have other channels or is it just YouTube without advertisement? I tried watching the free version last night, but never got through more then five minutes of anything I looked at. I was wanting to see how people handle and catch their goats, but almost everything I found was more of a rodeo then actually having something built that simplifies this and makes it safe. There is so much nothingness on YouTube, that it's sometimes hard for me to even bother looking for something that I'm curious about on there.

YouTube TV has nothing to do with YouTube videos. It is basically a cable TV (or satellite TV) provider via streaming over the Internet. It has most normal channels that any other TV provider does.

Just FYI - Hulu TV does NOT work if your internet service is cellular based. LTE.

Why? Are you experiencing some functional problem or is it the "you're not connecting from your home area" issue? I've used Hulu in the past just fine with AT&T LTE hotspot. I *think* I had the region/location issue and there is a way to get past that by verifying your location in another way than IP/ISP location data.

I ran into that ”location“ issue with Hulu when I had to use my cell phone as a hotspot. (DSL service was out). I recall some mention from Hulu about a limited number of times I could change my location.

I have found that some folks didn’t realize that being an Amazon Prime member entitled them to Amazon’s vast video and music library at no additional cost. It easily rivals Netflix, and is cheaper. Within Amazon you can buy a few other premium channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.) one month at a time. Good for binging a series then cancel. All the billing goes through your Amazon account. You will still need a smart TV, Roku, AppleTV, or Firestick like device to maneuver around.

For example, I can't imagine wanting local news/weather from L.A. or Chicago if you live in Maine.

Dish network has been reliable and has plenty of selection, including the local channels. The only problem I have is when the dish fills up with snow. A broom takes care of that. The cost isn’t bad if you don’t sign up for the mega channel packages. And it is available anywhere on earth.

You have access to your local network channels (i.e. local versions of NBC, CBS, etc.) so you can view your own local news, weather, etc. Just like being part of DirecTV. It's literally identical to having DirecTV or Comcast cable TV but streamed over the internet.
