Yeah, I don't know the origin, but it goes way back to the days of Pig Latin (1950's). I doubt 99% of the Okies had ever heard of a bong until the Betniks came around.

I am actively working on 9 things that require someone else to do something.
new game camera q code doesn't work, tactacam CS on phone will hang up and email will send a case #. the end.
new credit card is several days late, bank manager has no clue.
spare tire bought on ebay is late, UPS says it hasn't received it a Ford dealership says it left days ago.
the list goes on.

I politely call for an update and IF I get a person, they jump and promise resolution on the same day, then nothing.
This isn't me being snarky, I have been nicely asking for updates or asking if there is more I need to do to get their attention. I have no doubt that getting angry puts me at the back of the line so........losing my patience too.

Today I was trying to book flight on delta, but my credit didn’t have my middle name on it. Five different customer service agents disconnected on me. It took four and a half hours to complete booking.

followed 30 mins later by a click and the dial tone.0 as I'm disconnected.

AND while waiting, horrible music interrupted frequently by some praises of their terrific services.

That's a great story. I had the opposite experience with the customer service recently. Had to call aldimobile phone number 15 times before I got an answer.
I've found that to be the case with most companies. Getting to the person that actually knows what they are doing and how to fix the issue can be taxing.

It's the same with the IT department at work. I've had to call back 2 or 3 times before getting the person that actually knows how to handle the issue.

I've got post-it notes stuck to the side of the computer monitor with the names of the people I need to talk to at the IT department. Listed by cell phone and computer

Sad when anyone gets the run around but mobile phone service is an essential service nowadays. Needs to be handled priority asap.

SO had a customer complaint call routed to some person with a heavy accent that had a rooster crowing on the call.

A day or so later, she is cracking up reading a post about same company, different person with same experience. Rooster crowing in background.

How bizarre, and actually quite unprofessional.
