Have used both the 50 cal and big 50 cal ammo cans. Really appreciate the added room and strength of the big 50 cal.
The bigger 50 cal ammo cans are often referred to as "Fat 50" cans. The official designation is PA108.

If I remember correctly, the designation for the regular sized 50 cal ammo can is M2A1.

Searching for "Fat 50 ammo can" or "50 cal ammo can" on Amazon will turn up a lot of hits.

Your right “fat” is the preferred description for the bigger 50cal ammo can. Ammocanman.com is where I got mine. Had some nice locking stud option and a wide variety of different ammo can shapes.
Antique McCormick horse drawn mower came with built in tool box with tools. 1958 Ford 860 had a tool box. Modern tractors should have at least one.

Cycledude, I tried the behind the cab spot for a tool box like yours it was more in the way than not.... Especially hitching up to the jacto blast sprayer. The loader mounted box is slick....

Smokeydog, is that a 372 husky in the sabbard??

This loader frame tool box is a great idea!

Unfortunately, it won't work on my Kubota L6060hstc. The loader frame disconnects from the tractor when it's removed, leaving the tractor without a tool box. That location also blocks the view of the front tires from the cab. I frequently monitor the turn angle and also the tire chains when plowing.

For other machines, it's a great location though.

Yep. Living in the woods with many small clearings it’s about necessary. Sometimes carry a 20V polesaw too. So is carrying the associated equipment safely and conveniently.

I was thinking it was. Same saw I have, just minus the fancy mounting to the tractor (y)

For me the main reason for the rear toolbox was to store small 3 point hookup parts, so far it’s never been in the way of anything but I do use the tractor to run a rear snowblower so the box does get snow and ice on it and sometimes freezes shut.

Yes the toolbox does stay with the loader on the rare occasion that I remove the loader so at least for me so far it’s been no big deal. It doesn’t significantly block my vision, here’s another picture from inside the cab looking out.

i Had considered the ammo boxes that many folks seem to love but the ones I looked at at Harbor Freight seemed like to much messing around just to open or close them.
Years ago Fleet Farm and other stores used to sell very nice steel toolboxes designed to be mounted on tractors but they seem to have completely disappeared from the market, at least I couldn’t find them anywhere.

I got a .50 cal ammo can from Harbor Freight and hung it on 2 heavy "L" brackets using the existing holes on my loader arm bracket. Spray painted it with Massey Ferguson red to match my little GC1723. Holds a ton of stuff and yes it clears the front tire with room to spare. The only problem I had was getting the label and glue off the side of the ammo can. The paint kept bubbling up where the label was, so I ended up sanding that side and priming it before spraying it red.
