That's another point. With inflation rising, the last thing you want to do is hold onto cash.

How is it inflation happens again? You didn't clear any debt, you devalued the debt by circulating more money. It may feel good right now but the consequences of that are very bad. Also consider how many of those sat at home collecting all that money rather than being productive somewhere, now you have reduced output to create future assets. How do you collect more taxes when there's no wealth being created? These stimulus things are horrible, I said it way back when they first started being mainstream in 07/08 and I still say it. Stimulus payments aren't payments, their inflators of the economy that have highly detrimental long term consequences.

I absolutely agree. Nothing about the last year has made this country and it's people more financially secure.

Oh, I don’t disagree... I’ve seen my net worth lose $100k in two weeks. I’m not saying the stimulus was good in any way, but it did add to bank accounts. Now, whether those dollars are worth a damn, is another story.
I didn’t get a dime of the stimulus, but I sure am paying for all those who did at this point. Looks like those who did get it, will soon lose it, and then some as well.

By me, there has been an influx of people from NYC abandoning their digs in the city and moving to their second homes upstate full time. They largely seem to think that means they need a suburban and a 40hp tractor for their 20 foot drive and 2 acres of lawnmowing.
The traffic increase is crazy in the past 6 - 12 months.

They are arriving down here in South Florida and snapping up houses and acreage... (for full disclosure I am a real estate agent)
