Congrats on getting the front done. I was worried the metal roof would be too slick. I know my barn roof was after it was up and got a film of dirt on it.
What is roof slope?

18 degrees here this morning. I will be working inside today.

First order of business is to get a fire going in the stove.

Dropped a video this morning.

How do you get painting done without getting all over yourself and roof? I would have it in my hair along with my cloths and roof. I like watching your videos.

I believe it is a 1/4 and a 1/3. The front roof is 1/4. Wasn’t bad at all but I don’t want to try when it is
Wet.
We had another electrician come by and look the place over. He took lots of notes and got back to me with a quote. I checked his references and they rave about him. So I am going to have him wire in the panels and help me get it connected to the grid.

Dropped a video this morning. Not much on here, mostly just playing in the snow.

That would be 3/12, I thought maybe 2/12. 1/3 is 4/12 which is what my barn roof is, no way I’m getting on it wet, and probably not dry any more.

We had that same snow system you had here in the Smokey Mtns ! We lost power for 40 hrs. due to 4 inches of snow and 1/4" of ice. Like you we had a lot of downed trees and limbs that landed on the powerlines. We have a wood stove as well which kept the house at 65 degrees. Wife cooked meals on the wood stove top. There is another big storm headed our way come Sunday !!

I didn't get the generator checked out in my haste in doing other jobs !! Had to take carburetor apart and clean it....all is running fine now ! The little things bite you sometimes....

Glad you have a electrician you are comfortable with and trust !

With this new storm coning, I am on call so I can expect to be working sunday and monday. (Supposedly days off). I still havnt gotten out there and cut up the damage from last weeks storm i might take an hour at lunch to cut things small enough to drag into existing piles here at the rental. This place is 3 acres and they have a big pile in the back where they piled all kinds of overgrown stuff. It needs to be hauled away but I am not gonna deal with several years of their piling stuff.
We have about a 150+yard driveway that has 3 switchbacks to climb. There are multiple points where they had people cut trees that were fallen and the cuts were just tossed into the wood line. If I was the owner I wouldn’t be happy about it. I’ll probably call and see if the want me ti stack it where someone can come get it and haul away or just toss it in with the rest of the debris in the wood line.

Same here with trimming back and cutting along the edge of the roads ! They cut back to 3 ft. from edge of the road! We have alot of pine trees, so i don't mind cutting them down. I de-limb them. then use them for retaining walls to prevent soil erosion in certain places on the 26 acres....works well !

The fireplace/wood stove looks nice and getting seasoned well !

We really like this stove. It makes such a difference in how the house feels. Walking thru the door and seeing the stove there is like seeing an old friends smile. It warms you with anticipation.

Cool video and very nice land. If there is an occasional maple tree in there, you might want to spare them?

I have kept a handful of maples and some black locust. There also some small oaks that have established themselves so we are picking and choosing what to cut in some of the edge areas.

Buckeye, the next time you come thru, stop by again and I’ll put you on it. You will be amazed. We did tractor work Saturday, just to get a change of pace and I cut a hill with that thing that I would never dare to ride with the kioti tractor. It was absolute cake.

The last couple weeks have been a drag. I have hardly done anything on the house. My day job has required a lot more of me than usual.
I dropped a video today of some tractor work around the house.

Great satisfaction cleaning up brush, looking good.

I enjoyed seeing the Ventrac working. Are you saving those small pines? Here, they are weeds. If you don't keep a field mowed, they will take over. It's a never ending battle to stop them!!!!!

I was impressed that you use MAPP gas to start your stove!

The old timers used to use tires to start brush piles on fire. Now, they-re more refined. They use inner tubes ;)

Same for those briers. I mow my field constantly, yet multiflora roses try to grow constantly.

Area behind house looks nice all cleaned up.

It all takes time. I know during my build it was tough taking time to clean up around the build site.

How much snow did you end up getting?
