Tractor News What is driving up the demand for tractors?

It's a fine line being self employed; if one is smart you play by the rules. If one is smarter you look for every break you can get. I've always erred on the side of caution and been very conservative with deductions. You do not want to go sideways with the IRS.
Very true. But there’s a lot of favorable opportunities that will never be questioned. Your work truck and fuel, cell phone, etc…. Do you never use these for personal purposes? Are all of those restaurant meals for business? Many, many examples where deductions will never be questioned.

I agree with your statements. I was pointing out that there’s a lot of moaning about taxes from many people that actually get pretty favorable tax treatment. Deduct what you legally can, but don’t complain about your taxes when many of the same income level pay much more.
Absolutely!!!!! Well stated!!!! I never complain about the taxes I pay. I might ***** a little about how I think they should spend that money though!!!! :)

I think we all do. Democracy in action.
Reminds me of a Presidential debate I watched. One candidate was complaining about paying more taxes than the other candidate. The second candidate said that simply means I'm smarter than you.

I wish that we had a flat tax and did away with all of the games. But many accounting firms would go belly up if that happens.

I absolutely agree. And it would gut me.

Oh, I don’t disagree... I’ve seen my net worth lose $100k in two weeks. I’m not saying the stimulus was good in any way, but it did add to bank accounts. Now, whether those dollars are worth a damn, is another story.
I didn’t get a dime of the stimulus, but I sure am paying for all those who did at this point. Looks like those who did get it, will soon lose it, and then some as well.
Maybe I am misunderstanding your net worth, don't bite my head off...
If anyone lost money in 401k, IRA, retirement etc over the last two/four years, someone was either misinformed, or didn't do reseach. I am far from well off, actually living a low middle income life. But, the "investment market" made lots of gains over the last 4+ years. I enjoyed 17% last year.
In areas I looked, real estate has been through the roof. Just reading on here, equipment values has gone up.
Have you lost net worth another way? Just want to make sure I'm not looking through rose colored glasses about my retirement plan.

I think something like less than 50% of tax revenue comes from income taxes. I think you could do away with them and increase import tariffs a crap ton to make up the difference. Yes it will hurt for a year or two but I think after that you'd be amazed at the benefits.

Not like there's anything that even resembles a balanced budget anyway...

I gotta stop before I get anther time out:censored:
You were going on a line of thought that I like, but I thought the resulting tariff war would not be worth it. But now I think they are giving us the business anyway on whats being shipped through the ports, as they are telling us a simple order for things like solar equipment will take a month or more, and ordering specific heavy household items like furniture you may be looking at a year.

I think what he means is the recent drop in the stock market. I lost $15k in the S&P 500 in the past 2 weeks. Of course I made money over the past year. But it’s always hard to see a drop in your funds in a short period of time.
