We are not just sending money, we are also receiving goods of value. You can only send your money somewhere else for so long before you run out on wealth. Change my mind![]()

Hmm, but you can reduce the trade deficit by you guessed it...tariffs.. Robert Lighthizer on the need for tariffs to reduce America’s trade deficitYou can only send your money somewhere else for so long before you run out on wealth. Change my mind![]()
When Americans aren’t wealthy enough to import goods then we won’t. Until then, imports are a sign of a wealthy county. You assume the goods are durable. Fireworks? Socks? Etc?
I just said that…When Americans aren’t wealthy enough to import goods then we won’t. Until then, imports are a sign of a wealthy county.
Then we agreeI just said that…
If we agree that you can’t maintain a trade deficit indefinitely then yes, we agree. Then we agree
I said in the past two weeks... in the previous 5 years, I’ve averaged a 25-30% investment return, annually. Inflation is out of control, the fed is going to ramp up rates throughout the year, the markets have fallen 12% YTD as of today. The biggest losses after the first of the year, in history. Technically I’ve not realized any losses, but the value of my investments have plummeted $100k since January 1st. This is the “greatest economy ever”... but I’m not seeing it. I’m not hopeful that this year will see much real growth as the fed tightens monetary policy, likely increasing unemployment as well.Maybe I am misunderstanding your net worth, don't bite my head off...
If anyone lost money in 401k, IRA, retirement etc over the last two/four years, someone was either misinformed, or didn't do reseach. I am far from well off, actually living a low middle income life. But, the "investment market" made lots of gains over the last 4+ years. I enjoyed 17% last year.
In areas I looked, real estate has been through the roof. Just reading on here, equipment values has gone up.
Have you lost net worth another way? Just want to make sure I'm not looking through rose colored glasses about my retirement plan.
