I've noticed in the very recent past a lot of threads are being allowed to go on when they would previously have been locked or deleted and a lot of posts have been sliding by.

Thank you, I feel I've been learning a lot more and even find myself agreeing some with folks I never agreed with before and testing my own ideas/thoughts more. I know it's tricky and difficult but whatever shift you made I support the new way things are running.

Just don't talk politics here. It can place you on a time off period. Other than that, threads can be closed or totally removed. And this is recent. Ask the GROAN folks. LOL

To venture a guess, 98% of the persons that post here are at least in their forties, white male, and own property. How this HASN'T devolved in to Re-posts of certain political venues, is why I put this in my first look at as a site. It could become that, but it has not. Many other sites, that i have been involved with, did fall in to the small tent way of thinking and people always wanting to find a free platform for their particular ideology. This is Why I like this one. It doesn't do that.

I appreciate moderation. I'm very happy to participate in a group where someone cares to keep the posts if not on topic, at least between the lines of good taste. Sure, not everyone agrees all the time, I can respect that, we agree to disagree sometimes. If I wanted to debate politics, I'd look for a place to do that. I don't, so I'm here - to talk about responsible operation of tractors.

There were several pages of highly political posts on one thread last night. The thread was locked, but the posts and posters remain.

But I bet the message was sent.

Every mod has their own style of doing things, some are moderate, while others will be stricter. Some posters do blow themselves out and maybe reach a point they correct how they reply to certain things.

Sometimes it's better to have the "evidence" on hand for the next time it starts to go to heck. The other thing about a tight leash, certain people learn various methods to try and close down thread they don't like much.

well I like that now they just remove the post instead of giving you a two week time out ... I do my best to stay out of politics as much as a can but seem like the definition of what is political is broad.

Both politics and religion are volatile subjects and threads can get nasty...real quick!

Two topics which I try to avoid in my real life as well as online... although I will admit that I fail sometimes.
