BEF,

Virginia is way better than Texas. No matter what wngsprd thinks. And no matter that opinionated list that Don posted.

:) :)

And West Virginia is way better than Virginia...moonshine is much tastier and less lethal

lovely day out, bright blue sky, wasted trip to dealers though. They had me as a drop off and not a wait so I had to reschedule.
Am really spoiled by last Audi where they came and picked up car. Living alone that is a huge convenience.

got the car washed and picked up some apples on way home.
lot of paperwork to do today

Hardly.

We have way more beer gardens and wineries. It's the in thing. Especially for those seeking ag-exemptions.

Moonshine can blind you.

:)
I agree...Ol' Virginny is hardly any better than Texas

"Moonshine can blind you"
That's what makes it good!

65°F and .01 inches rain

OK dental visit Sophie has to return for a cavity. I got some sort of silver med applied to a spot. Met the new dentists who took over the practice. Didn’t realize our previous Dr was 80 yo. New guys in mid 30’s.

Picked up another couple of lengths of board, should be able to finish door trims.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Speaking of radiators I wonder if the new ones would work good,
plastic tanks and glue, no lead?????
Or would the alcohol desolve the glue.

None of these appeal to me. But I do like cider.

The old ones worked well because they were copper.

I think the worst part of using radiators to make 'shine was not being clean. The ethaline glycol was causing the blindness and other health issues.

If you believe reality TV, the copper in the coils helps purify the liquor. Try some of the original Climax brand moonshine made by Tim Smith. Very smooth with a strong corn flavor. 🤤 I like his "aged" whiskeys , too.

The lumberjacks up the road from my uncles had two copper stills.
They were pretty old and worked well.
None of us got blind, but man that stuff was strong.

Wish I had pictures, but that probably would not have been appreciated....

The sheriff would have busted them, but he liked the product too much

I remember as a kid picking dandelions with our friends. The adults made it into wine.
Never liked the taste, but it was very common to see everyone making their own wine, from just about anything that grew.

My neighbor in PA made it too...I thought it was rather bitter. He made wine from a number of fruity plants.
Also made applejack...good stuff, very potent!!!

Grandma made dandelion salads in the spring. Put a hot vinegar dressing on it. The buds, before opening into flowers were very good. Don’t think I had one since my grandmother died.

we picked those dandelions as kids too, safe to do since we didn't spray all that lawn with anything and we would get a good sized bag of them.
Gave them to elderly tenant on the farm, he brought out a wooden screw press and made dandelion wine.
He was so proud of it and gave my Dad two bottles every year. It was horrible. Gagifying. We called it liquid lawn. But my Father always showed great praise for it, it was truly
the thought that counted.

Franklin County is known for some of the best. In my younger years have sampled shine from Tennessee NC WVA and Va and my personal favorite from Franklin County peach brandy
