You deserve whatever they are paying for this work. As a forester, I administer a lot of mastication projects in the woods. The wear on the equipment is brutal. When I show up on a job site it’s not uncommon (at least once per week) to see the machine out of service and the mechanic tearing apart the equipment.

It really is. Can’t believe no flat tires (yet). The human toll is also noticeable. 3 very sore bodies, and open sores on the hands, but it keeps you in shape.

Can you silicon that chute to alleviate some of the freeze/clogging?

Why can’t you burn it? It looks like it’s in a safe spot for it.

Glad to see you have some decent size equipment for the job.
I hired a guy a few years back that had a 24" chipper.
that thing can eat some wood.
A little 12" chipper would probably double the manual work.

Why can’t you burn it? It looks like it’s in a safe spot for it.

Property owner will not allow it. They think it will freak out the horses, some of which are very valuable.
Also, the property owners adult-aged children will not allow the use of chemicals or burning on the property. Not much pollution allowed other than tractor/equipment exhaust.

I was thinking of spraying it with a coating of diesel fuel.

So a fire would freak out the horses but a wood chipper screaming for several days won’t? And rotting wood releases the same gasses that burning would just slower.

Whew! thats a lot of work. Beautiful place though. Wouldn't mind if that was my office.
