Buying Advice I want to buy a new Tier 4 tractor this year!

True, I never said it didn't raise prices, what I said is that it is not the primary cause of high tractor prices, nor of inflation.
And I agree with you. I think the primary cause is the disruption of the supply chains worldwide coupled with high demand. Tariffs did have a sizable impact on raw steel, but steel alone probably doesn’t account for the greatest costs of manufacturing a finished tractor.

Sorry, the Economist in me knows too much about inflation to buy the BS about supply chain. Is it a factor? Yes. The biggest impact to prices/inflation is monetary and oil policies. The supply chain issues will be temporary and if it was just that, prices would already be coming down as Supply is ticking back up. Part of the reason Demand is up is the fear of future inflation. People realize it is not going to get better soon and are trying to buy before interest rates and inflation get even worse.

I too was very apprehensive when I bought my M7060HDC12. But I read the owners manual thoroughly and follow it religiously and in 500+ hours of operation have had absolutely no problems at all. I know the tractor goes through a regeneration cycle occasionally because I see the light is on in the dash but otherwise I cannot tell the difference. I just make sure I don't shut it down when the regen cycle is going on because according to the owners manual that is a no-no.
Exactly what the head wrench at my Kubota dealer told me. The issues with the T4 finals tractors arise when owners don't follow the owners manual concerning engine operation. He said EVERY repair he's had to make concerned early shutdown during regen or over riding the regen numerous times.

Of course mot 'adults' today are poor at following instructions or never bother to read the owners manual in the first place.

Despite that, I'll still never own a T4 final tractor, simply because I don't want or need some joe college engineer telling me a T4 engine is better than my post 3 engines. I don't buy that, never will.

Good point! Prices are up dramatically...almost doubled, in some cases..
I think everyone who reads a newspaper (paper or online) or watches TV can figure out why...
Interesting you should say that. I was offered today a cash sale on one of my Pre 4 M9's at a price equal to what I paid for it new in 2004. Not for sale at any price, at least now. Of course factoring in inflation I should have been offered a tad bit more that what I paid for it originally.

Demand is also up due to Covid. People have been delaying purchasing for a couple of years and now are starting to do things again.

It depends on how you define better. I used to get terrible sinus headaches after operating my old tractor for a few hours due to diesel fumes. This isn’t a problem with my new tier 4 tractor.

I wouldn’t touch anything that did not come with KTAC Insurance.

I’ve owned 2 that did & plan to be getting a 3rd soon.

No way in the world I’d consider your #2 or #3.

Green has soured around this hill even though there’s 12 between all the farms.
Please explain further as I have never bought KTAC Insurance as my tractor purchase was cash.

I really want my first choice of the Kubota M6-111, but the price keeps going up and even with a 20% discount (if available), it is still expensive. The TYM really looks equivalent to the M6 for 40% less than MSRP. The Kioti PX-1153pc also looks equivalent to the M6 for about 40% less than MSRP. Is there more I need to research on the 110 hp Kioti PX and TYM?

Seems to be a lot of bad talk about tier 4 tractors but mine now has 180 trouble free hours and has only regenerated two or three times.
