Buying Advice I want to buy a new Tier 4 tractor this year!

Seems to be a lot of bad talk about tier 4 tractors but mine now has 180 trouble free hours and has only regenerated two or three times.
I can put 180 hours on one of mine in 3 weeks when running crops, maybe less if I work after dusk. IOW 180 hours ain't beans.

Please explain further as I have never bought KTAC Insurance as my tractor purchase was cash.

I really want my first choice of the Kubota M6-111, but the price keeps going up and even with a 20% discount (if available), it is still expensive. The TYM really looks equivalent to the M6 for 40% less than MSRP. The Kioti PX-1153pc also looks equivalent to the M6 for about 40% less than MSRP. Is there more I need to research on the 110 hp Kioti PX and TYM?
Why not Massey?

Exactly. When you’re talking about something that should easily get to 4k, 180 is nothing. It hasn’t even been serviced yet just an oil change.

Do you own a tier 4 tractor ?
Yes I agree 180 hours ain’t much all I was saying it’s been trouble free so far, hopefully it will continue to be trouble free but when it comes to mechanical stuff you never really know When something could go wrong. What is IOW supposed to mean ?

I would consider a Massey Global Edition. Seems like good major components if you can find enough information to be certain what you are buying. Wonder if the cabs glass is tinted?

Nope and don't want one either. My buddy down the road has a fleet of them for his commercial seed operation and they are constantly being repaired. In fact I believe the JD tech lives in his machinery barn....lol said before that I'd retire from farming if my tractors somehow failed but I don't see that happening. Just had the one in the shop (Kubota dealer for a overhead adjustment and some other minor stuff and it was given an A+ bill of health by the lead technician. It has over 6000 hours on it. Uses no oil, no coolant, starts right up, rarely smokes unless I'm really working it hard and just performs beautifully, every day.

I have had Kubota's with DPF since 2013. Only one has DEF. Have had no engine problems with any of them other than failed fan/alternator belt idler pulley on my M7 at 1050 hours. Two with DPF only have been traded off for larger tractors, M135GX was traded for the M7 as soon as the M7 became available (I wanted KVT & more power). L6060 recently traded for M5-111. If I include my nephew's M111GX, which now has 4400 hours, we have probably 7,000 operating time with the only difference between the Tier 4 emissions and older tractors is lack of smoke, diesel odor, and regens happening when they happen noticed by the light flashing - unless the regen happens at the end of the work day and then idle fast enough for the regen to continue until its done, then shut down. Nephew and I compare notes, have had that happen a few times over the 8 years we've been running Tier 4. I guess we are unusual in not having problems hearing rumors of others but my nephew and I really like performance improvements. My L6060 replace a L5740 and was like an entirely larger power class. I have some concerns about the M5 having heard of people running into DEF problems with early build tractors. I assume that is why Kubota supplied me with free DEF for 2020 - dealer said problems with customers using old and contaminated DEF. I shouldn't say no engine problems. I have had water separator plugging, but no different than with my earlier tractors and minimal emissions engines (L3710, L5740, RTV900, GR2120).
