What a shame, she is hot! But the hot/crazy scale couldn't remedy the level of crazy.
There are a lot of those out there, seems like the hotter they are, the crazier they are.
I often wonder if it's all that ink that makes them crazy?

...It's not that far off the wall to imagine (intelligent) life forms that exist in harsh and extreme conditions...for example...imagine a humanoid like figure that survives in very hot temps and what we would consider caustic atmospheres...could even have something like ammonia based blood etc...to deal with the temps...

That reminds me of Andy Weir's book, Project Hail Mary. The main character goes to another star system in search of a solution to a problem that is going to kill all life on Earth, and meets an alien in another space ship there for the same reason. The alien looks similar to an Earth crab and lives in a 300°F atmosphere of ammonia.

In a universe as large as ours, the possibilities are endless.

Honestly,
The one bar I used to frequent has a female bar tender who truly believes not only in alien or extraterrestrial life forms... but she is convinced to the core that she is one of them.

She has alien tattoos all over herself, she talks like a nut case half the time and she is convinced that she is always the smartest person in every room.

For a short while I got a kick out of hearing her talk about these things, but it does get old and annoying before long. I took it more as a ruse or her way of entertaining others, but I came to realize that she believes this and she obviously has some issues in her pretty head. What a shame, she is hot! But the hot/crazy scale couldn't remedy the level of crazy.
Yeah, always gotta factor in the crazy

I met my wife on an online dating site.

For a while though I would get calls from family and friends asking for stories of the "Freak of the week".

You want a whole next level experience with crazy, try online dating. Crazy comes out of the wood work.

The Borg would be more like it. Being part of the Collective and working toward a common goal would be so alien to us.
Depends on what your “common goal” is.
One guys common goal may be war. Another’s common goal may be peace.

Aliens would have to look like Yoda.:alien:
Hopefully not wraith like on Stargate Atlantis.

No telling what aliens might look like on their home planet but if we’re ever contacted by an extraterrestrial civilization it will be in the form of a machine. We almost exclusively explore space with machines/probes so they’d probably be no different.

Maybe sort of cloud/mist or somewhat human form etc. I would be interested seeing from a d i s t a n c e.

One of the Sci Fi type channels did a show on what aliens could look like, and why. It was very interesting.
A funny line in the original Star Trek series was an energy based alien race addressing Kirk as "squishy bag of water", or something very similar.
While knowing would be awesome, I will go along with Stephen Hawking's opinion that it's best they not know about us.

It depends on how advanced their technology is. Look at how much we've advanced in just 100 years, and imagine how much different things will be in another century. "They actually had to type their thoughts for the machine to know what they wanted"...

I think that like a previous poster suggested, their physical design as well as senses would be based on the conditions that they lived in while developing. I doubt we would meet the green skin, stubby legs, giant eyes and pasty smooth flesh of childhood stories.

Current thinking say a biological unit can not live long enough to make the interstellar trip. It's most likely to be computer synthesized units or some form of probe.
Seems like one day in a physics class I woke up and heard the professor say, "According to this guy named Einstein, if you are travelling at the speed of light you won't age." Then I went back to sleep.

Actually, I have never figured that out. The inverse would seemingly be; "If you come to an absolute standstill, your life would pass by in an instant." So just be sure not to let your space ship slow down too much.

It does though. Or at least it sure seems that way. I constantly find myself asking where the last 35 years or so went.

It’s confusing because we think time actually exists. It’s generally accepted in quantum mechanics that time as we think of it is simply an illusion.

When you read about the size of the universe and how many galaxies there might be, it really boggles the human mind. The more we find out about the universe it seems we have even more questions. Fascinating.....

It is interesting that most of the time the animal kingdom makes the right choice, but even they will goof up. Just like when an entire pod of whales beach themselves for some reason.

I believe they'll wear suspenders and travel in eggs.

A funny line in the original Star Trek series was an energy based alien race addressing Kirk as "squishy bag of water", or something very similar.
There was supposedly a semi written rules that creatures had to resemble humanoids to some degree; two eyes, ears, mouth and so on. But they broke it a few times, once with the sentient rock in the mining colony and then with the space whale.

I think that like a previous poster suggested, their physical design as well as senses would be based on the conditions that they lived in while developing.
B5 explored that with the Vorlons and their massive encounter suit because of the toxic atmosphere on the home world. And also with the Shadows that resembled giant insects of some kind.

Either y'all are too young or you are just plain forgetful. In 1958 we found out what aliens would look like:

I know this one well. It was on his "Sheb Wooley's Greatest Hits" album, which my father played every Sunday.
