Has anyone Ever Made A Pipe Blade Edge So Their Bucket Doesn't Dig In For Plowing

I tested this concept (which I read about here) using a length of pvc pipe that I ran through my table saw.

It does work very well at keeping the gravel on the driveway though, highly recommend. For what it’s worth, I got four plowings out is the PVC before it shattered.

I did the same with the blade on an ATV. It worked well for the first few plowings of the season, which was all I really needed for. Cutting the slot on a table saw was a little scary, and it was kind of a PITA to put on.

Never really needed one for the loader on the tractor (which I use for bigger snowfalls than the ATV can handle) since I can tilt the bucket back a few degrees.

For sure edge tamers are the way to go.
I diy'd mine and am super pleased with the results.
Also made me a set of oversized skid shoes for my blower and I never have gravel to rake back.
OK, I DIY and have a welder so that helps.

Yep, works best for when the ground isn't frozen. We get quite a few heavy wet storms where I need the full weight of the plow on the ground, if I angle back even a bit the blade will ride up over the snow. That's why I used the pipe. When I get a good packed base on the driveway the pipe can come off.

It's all irrelevant for me now that I plow with the truck. My doggo enjoys plowing too, so she rides shotgun.
