An obvious disadvantage of having couplers direct mounted to the valve, as seen in the above photo, is that any couplers larger than the 3/8" size won't fit. I have one situation where I use a friends twelve foot grass seed drill which has 1/2" Pioneer type couplers on it's pair of hydraulic hoses.
I've used a pair of adapters in the past that simply plugged into the pair of tractor hoses that went from the diverter valve to the back of the tractor to serve as a remote. The couplers were not mounted but rather just plumbed to each "loose" hose.
I'm wondering, in lieu of using a short piece of hose as part of at least one of the two coupler adapters to overcome the close spacing issue, whether I can just plug each existing adapter into separate spools of the valve shown above.
To achieve the spacing necessary, one adapter would go into the valve "A" port and the other adapter would go into the "B" port on the adjacent spool. Then, to operate the cylinder on the grass seeder, pull or push those two spool handles in unison and in the same direction to raise or lower the drill openers.
For example, to raise the openers, PULL both handles and then to lower PUSH both handles. Seems like it should work. Right?
