If you kill the one or two that are causing the problem, chances are pretty good you won't have an issue again.
I worked at the Jaguar store in Sandy Eggo, and I can't tell you how many newer Jags were totaled because of wiring damage caused by squirrels....if they chew thru the wrong wire and cause a short,
I put one to sleep and relocated another, I think I got the trouble maker.
I'll be watching closely, got the moth balls under the hood, so now it smells like an old ladies closet.
A guy told me today, he heard of mice destroying a bmw, like a total insurance loss! the people put those bait blocks in it cause of a small problem and that attracted a whole bunch of them
A friend of the family (Joe) had a squirrel nesting between the transmission and the sheet-metal of his class c motor-home. He tried sticks and all sorts of contraptions to get it out; finally he went to the local car wash and used the high pressure wand (this was before you had pressure washers around the house) and got it out. But that squirrel wouldn't give up. As he was directing the water at the critter, it was trying its hardest to get back to the motor-home. Picture a wet squirrel walking into 80mph wind and water. Joe, yelled to his wife Peggy, "DRIVE AWAY, DRIVE AWAY". Joe walked way down the street and went home with the wife, leaving the wet squirrel at the car wash.
That was a determined critter
He put his HavaHart trap out every night for about 3 weeks and nearly every night he had another "friend" in the trap.
I figured I could do that if I had to, but like I said never had a problem with them before. cept maybe tearing up trash
if you opt to relocate spray paint there tails so you can see if they come back
also put them a cross a large river
I thought about notching their ears, but I guess the spray paint would be less traumatic for both of us. I moved one just a mile away, I've heard they don't travel far, could spend their whole life in one yard?
lectro88 mentioned rabbis, but a vet told me they can't get it. I had a pet squirrel one year, I rescued a baby and had it till it got big. One day he was frothing at the mouth and I got scared but the vet said probably just ate something bad.
