I've installed 2post in garages with ceilings that are too low, one we were able to erect it between the trusses, another we were able to run the top plate above the lower chord of the truss. Not ideal but that's what the customer wanted.

Brand dependent. I've been busy and haven't had a chance to talk to my Son about this. I will get an answer.

I have a Challenger 2 post 9K lift, Sice tire machine, Coats computerized balancer, 80 gallon Air Compressor, motorcycle lift, and too many more tools, scanners, radiator pressure testers to mention. Good luck with your 4 post. A friend of mine has one and likes it a lot.

A lot of overhead type two post lifts are an inch or two under 12'. A few are just over, and then there are the extra tall lifts that are 13' or more. Baseplate type lifts are shorter.

I have a two post 9K asymmetrical lift with the cross piece overhead. In my old shop I had a pit but found it to be far less than ideal for anything other than oil changes, which I do a lot of, but I also do a lot of tire work so I needed the wheels free.

When I poured the concrete floor I also dug out two squares 2' x 2' x2' where I knew the lift would go and made a rebar cage within the squares (monopour with the slab). The directions said it could go on a four inch slab but I had some hesitation so for an extra 1/2 a yard I could use 12" anchor bolts and not give it a second thought

My only regret was not going with a 12K unit for an extra 2K that I would not even remember spending 15 years later....

I went yesterday and got the oil and lights for my lift and I haven't even got a shipping date yet. I am as excited as a kid on X-mas. My wife wishes I would hush about my new toy.
