63F and partly cloudy @ 21:00, heading down to a low of 59F overnight. Pretty tired, think I will probably sleep good tonight.

Did not get any feeders filled ... but the deer were back there waiting on me nonetheless:

Did get the aluminum hauled to the recycler and dropped off. Glad to have that out of the van. Worked out better than I expected: did not think I had that much weight but ended up getting $45 for it, so it was worth it to swing while I was out anyways.

Also got the orders picked up from Tractor Supply and Menards.

After I got home I went over to the barn and got the tow-behind spreader out and spread 25 bags (1000 lbs) of pelletized lime on the front lawn and on the side and back lawns, down here around the house. So that task is completed for the year.

Woman got her purple tulips dug up and replanted while I was doing that (along with making dinner) and then headed over to the neighbor's to get a haircut.

After I finished spreading the lime, I hoooked up the core aerator and started on the east side of the house. Got that maybe 50% done before I knocked off for the day.

Hopefully will be able to finish that up before the rain arrives tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Drove 1.5 hrs each way to WV to attend a gospel meeting held by an old friend of mine I’ve known since high school. Was good to hear him again and chat with him. And met the new preacher at that church who is also from my home county in Ohio. Was like a reunion.

3" ??? must be some hard dirt. :)

Helogabals, I'm serious, I don't have much money, but if there's a way to get that baby born and over here, I would baby sit it for some years for the mom, or forever.

Ken, glad your son finished the competition.

Mostly, so your "regular riding" is faster than other peoples' racing? congrats! I-35 sucks.

Wifey made chocolate chip cookies, I'm partaking.

I bought some asparagus seeds. Soaked them in a jar of water for a few days, then planted them into the little "pucks" of peat moss they sell to start seeds. They are growing. Almost 2" tall, but the stalk is not much thicker than a human hair. Oldest daughter is taking care of them. She transplanted some small zucchini plants to the garden, she started that way. Why do I keep forgetting 2 "c's" in zucchini?

Eric, hope you get some good weather soon. Wagtail is already having fall/autumn weather. Just for fun, I opened my Google Earth Pro and did a line from roughly in the middle of Britain to Wellington NZ....great circle navigation of the globe. 11,611 miles. You two are about as far apart as can be had here on this good planet. The line went almost directly over the north pole, far eastern Russia, over the Sakhalin peninsula, then down across the Pacific all the way to Oz land. I'm guessing the commercial airliners take a different route, to avoid getting shot down. I can't imagine the time the voyage took on a tall masted sailing vessel. I love maps.

I hear my son in the bedroom griping about our internet being slow tonight....making him lose his games. I saw a T-shirt for a young boy that says, "I paused my video game to spend time with you right here right now". I need to get him one.

I brought home an old fancy leather shoulder strap, that went to who knows what, and I rigged it to my weedeater. It is a multi-tool Shindaiwa, that is about 20 years old. It has served me fantastic. Had to put a pump diaphragm and new fuel line on it a few years ago. I also have a pole saw, and hedge trimmer attachment for it. The casting where you put the attachment end in, to mate it up with the engine half, was not properly "pinching" the lower section. I took it apart, and trimmed about .020 off of the slit, to allow the bolt to close the diameter smaller. Wallah! It works.

RNG, glad you made it home safely. Hope your dirt work goes without huge rocks.

Gas here dropped again $3.45/gallon, diesel $4.45/gallon. Not sure if taxes have been relaxed or not. It's a price war between 2 big stations near each other.

I'm feeling more upbeat about the possible job. They have made concessions to make it more lucrative benefits wise. Pay is roughly the same. I would greatly miss my machine shop, but would get to learn some new 3D printing technologies...and that is the dilemma.
