Folks, we got a few more snow pics and we are still skiing here, but I've not processed them yet. How long will it last?

Going to hit 64 and sunny this afternoon down in the southeastern corner of your same state; like a world away sometimes, though. 80F this coming weekend.

We did get 2" of snow on Monday, but thankfully it melted quickly. Most everyone is way, way over that nonsense; we want to be out on the lake already. Enjoy your skiing!

It's nice that you take such good care of those dogs. You both benefit with forever homes.

If you have horses, you need to take care of them. If you have cattle, you need to take care of them. Same goes for kids and dogs. 😁

Not true, mosquito's are out in June and that's about it.
šŸ˜‚ Nope I remember getting eaten alive in early May sometimes into October anyways Mosquitos arent nothing compared to flesh eating Deere flies or those ankle biting black ones.

Around here it depends on how close you are to wetlands.

That is not the norm.
Not trying to discourage someone from living or going up there as I truly love it but...this is the up I grew up in.

We've resided in the western UP since 1996. We found that people who don't reside here, like to talk about bugs all year long. Those who live here, say "what bugs?". That season is easily avoided.

With lots of repellant imo You have to kind of agree though that Deer flys are nasty. I swear those buggers can bite a chunk of your flesh off and laugh at you while eating it🤣

My wife and I took a hike in Copper Falls State Park in WI way back in the 80's. While it's not the UP, it's a close neighbor. We parked the car and headed towards a trail. At the start of the trail was the typical brown wood sign with routed in lettering filled with yellow paint. Trail 4. Woodlands Trail. River Trail. Etc. However, what struck us most was a large one that stated "Insect repellent recommended on trails." We had never seen such effort put into signage regarding bug spray. We laughed and started walking. Huge mistake. You could hear the mosquitos flying after you! If you slowed at all it felt like someone was throwing darts at you! After 10 minutes of the most intense insect attack I've ever felt in my life, we turned around and RAN to the car! 🤣

We drove all the way to Ashland (as I recall) to buy bug spray and then returned for our hike.

While I'm sure it was in summer, so it meets the criteria of the two months of mosquito activity, it was not a pleasant experience. 😬
