Looks like it's time to transition from clearing land to being a wood splitter! View attachment 744152
That's when a grapple is nice, if you happen to have one.Looks like it's time to transition from clearing land to being a wood splitter! View attachment 744152
My back hurts just looking at that pile! When I come to a block that is on the verge of being too big to transfer from the raised bucket to the splitter beam I break it down. Brings back memories of when all I had was a hammer and maul for a very long time. Like many here I am sure.

We’ve jacked stuff in some pretty good winds before, with a set of jacks like I have you can see exactly what that tree is doing. If the pressure on the gauge rises you know you’re in for a treat that tree is setting back. Without being there to look at the lays available it’s hard to say if that’s what I would of done. I’ve jacked 5’ cedars hanging back over a main county road as well as done fir like what you have pictured with jacks without issues before, but you have to foresee the lay.Not really. House to the north, neighbor's property and shed to the south, yet bigger trees to the west and saltwater to the east. It was a windy day anyway and I would not have trusted jacking the trees.
